In the Aramaic Bible in Plain English John 4:44 For Yeshua had been testifying that a Prophet is not honored in his city. Then in Matthew 13:54-58 54 And he came to his city and he taught them in their synagogues so that they would marvel and they would say, “From where does he have this wisdom and the miracles?” 55“Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Maryam, and his brothers, Yaqob and Yose and Shimeon and Yehudah?” 56 “And are not all his sisters with us? From where does he have all these things?” 57 And they were suspicious of him; but Yeshua said to them, “There is no Prophet who is despised except in his city and in his home.” 58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their suspicion.
A Prophet is only despised in their city and home. Of everyone who has lived, Jesus did not fall into sin. Yet, when He returned back to His hometown, all they could see was the son of Joseph. The news of all that He had done, the Wisdom in which He spoke, they marveled. “Where does His ability to preform these miracles, and teach w/ such Wisdom come from?” So they knew not of man, but all they could see was, a neighbor. Since this happened to Jesus, everyone else who God works through, this become the effect. We will judge the person and in that miss the message. Or, because the message rings true, and we don’t want to change, the prophet, teacher, or any other are then dismissed. It is important to do the right things, all of the time. Yet, only Jesus did that. Many people are praying to hear from God. We look for confirmation from Holy Ghost. But, because we think this way about others, we fail to hear. The age of another, their clothes, color of skin, length of hair, (long or short), different church, the list can go on and on. Based on opinions we have, our hearing is effected. The enemy takes that thinking and exploits it. We are left angry at God and others because of our prejudice. By no means, all the information we have around us, does not mean it is for us now or ever. The first half of Matt 13, tells the story of, breaking ground, planting seeds, watering, and reaping the harvest. As we yield our thinking to Holy Spirit, and not allow our limited senses or emotions much say. This is one way that, we die to self. And we will be able to hear much more then before. Weigh the information ( breaking up ground), take the things that seem to click (planting seeds), ponder and put them into practice ( watering), then in the things that you do, Jesus is Glorified. People are coming to Christ, they are being healed, delivered and made whole (FRUIT). All these things and so much more because, you chose to take moment and listen, to see, what God is Saying. If I write it once then, as much as I can I write, “We are the Body, We move as One, Looking out for each other!!” Praise the Most Holy God, His Son, and His Spirit. In the Holy Name of Jesus.
