All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Reading through Psalms, and these verses have really stood out to me. "Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me." Psalm 19:12-13

This is a reminder to us that there is so much that we do not know, even about ourselves. It is hard to always discern our motives and actions, and how they relate to God's plan for His people. I am reminded to not only repent of the things that consciously know that I did wrong, but also those things that I did wrong without realizing. This could be something judgmental or critical that I say or think, or even pass up on an opportunity for God to work in someone's life. Not obeying the Spirit's prompting is also sin, so even if we lock ourselves in our room and try not to sin, we are still sinning because we are not obeying God's call to minister to others. This can be pretty overwhelming, but rather than see this as frustrating or discouraging, we should realize our dependence on Him and the amount of grace He has shown us. As such, we should be called into true, forgiveness-seeking repentance. After doing so, we can meditate on His truth, such as the next verse that Psalms 19 has to offer, and live to please the Lord through our heart change. "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14
