Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. This is God's promise and He will keep it. if we resist the adversary, God will compel him to flee and will give us the victory. just as a citizen would claim the protection of his government against an outrage or injustice by violent men, so we can at all times fearlessly defy and resist Satan our enemy.

At the same time we are not to stand on the adversary's ground by any attitude or disobedience. In so doing we give him a certain power over us which, while God will restrain in great mercy and kindness, He will not fully remove until we get fully on holy ground. We must therefore be armed with the breastplate of righteousness as well as the shield of faith, if we would successfully resist . . . principalities, . . . powers, . . . rulers of the darkness of this world, . . . [and] spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

AS WE ARE POUNDED BY THE FIREY DARTS OF SATAN, IT'S VERY HARD AT TIMES. WHEN WE HAVE DONE ALL ELSE WE STAND AND WAIT ON GOD TO DELIVER US. WE KNOW THAT IT'S THE HARDEST THINGS AND THE MOST PAINFUL TIMES IN OUR LIVES THAT GOD USES THE MOST. WHEN WE LOOK FOR HIM, WE WILL SEE HIM IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. That's encouraging that you like them too, because I like to read what you write too. I especially have enjoyed the Bible Studies you have started on the book of John. That was the first Bible Study I ever had when I was a new Christian and the BEST one by far.

I asked because you posted this devotional from the C&MA website, of which A.B. Simpson was the founder. A.W. Tozer was a pastor with the C&MA and was the head of the C&MA magazine in his day. My curiosity mostly comes because I am a pastor with the C&MA and was simply curious if you were associated with the denomination.

The authors you have listed are all excellent. I read a lot of Tozer, Simpson, Pink and Murray.

Anyway, was just curious.

I just love to spend time reading when I am given the opportunity. Saturday's are always my opportunity. :)

I also love to read articles by John Wesley, George Fox, Jonathon Edwards, A.W. Pink, Billie Sunday, John Stott, Leonard Ravenhill, well...I think that you understand.

What is a C&MA association? Because I do like to read them both...
