Have you ever heard the saying come to Jesus just you are? But how sadly do we sometimes interpret that quote. You know the say don't worry about how you dress. That is true. Because if you don't have enough clothes or enough money to buy them so you should come to the House of God. Because you come to worship the Lord Jesus. Jesus does not judge you or condemn you. As the word of God says in John 3:17-God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. Okay but you get the point .But what we need to know is we need to go to Jesus just as we are . Not just our with our so called perfections. We are still a work in progress. We are still aiming for the prize. As the word of God says in Philippians 3:14- I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us. But we need to come to Jesus with our failures, secret sins, shame, pride, guilt etc. We need to come to Jesus with every part of being and our lives. Let's look at Luke 7:36-38.
One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to come to his home for lunch and Jesus accepted the invitation. As they sat down to eat, a woman of the streets—a prostitute—heard he was there and brought an exquisite flask filled with expensive perfume. Going in, she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping, with her tears falling down upon his feet; and she wiped them off with her hair and kissed them and poured the perfume on them. You know let's stop at look at this verse. I like how Jesus uses a prostitute. Because a prostitute is some pose to be some one who has notable record aka a history of sins.Like we all do.. You know back in those times. Everybody knew your business. But the point of the matter . Is that though she was a prostitute she came to worship the Lord. Because she knew who her healer was, she know who paid the price for her to be forgiven. She knew who didn't look down on her. She knew who love her so much despite her being dead in her sins. AS the word of God says in Ephesians 2:4-But God is so rich in mercy; he loved us so much. Too many us let theologians and religious folks intimidate us .ANd make it seem like we not good enough to share in God's glory. They can't save you nor can they deliver you. They have weakness just like you and me. ANd there is only one high appointed High Priest and his name is Jesus . AS the word of God says in Hebrews 7:26- He is, therefore, exactly the kind of High Priest we need; for he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin, undefiled by sinners, and to him has been given the place of honor in heaven. Now you know why the women came to Jesus. She came because he is kind, he is forgiving . I'm not telling you to show rebellion against your Pastor or other spiritual leaders .But you must not let them define you by human efforts. Human efforts we fail and they lead to frustration. As the word of God says John 6:63-It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. You have nothing to fear about what God thinks about you .Because you are in Jesus and God sees you blameless before. AS the word of God says in Ephesians 1:4- just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, You are being look at with love. God already knows your are still in the flesh. But he also knows that as long as you are reaching out him. He can heal you of your infirmities. Just like he heal the woman with the issue of blood. Because she set her faith on Jesus to make her whole. AS the word of God says in Matthew 9:20-22
And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour. SO saints let not your flaws , your insecurities, your uncleanness etc stop you from coming to Jesus .Come to the one who can make you whole. You will not be cast out. As the word of God says in John 6:37- All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. Jesus loves you very much. You are a work in progress. Remember his glory will change you. As the word of God says in 2 Corinthians 3:18- But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. God bless you all in Jesus Name.
If you want a relationship with Jesus.. Say this prayer... Jesus I come to you just as I am . With all my flaws, and my perfections .That you will forgive me for all my sins that I have committed against you and others. ANd that your glory will be place mightly upon my life. And be filled with your Holy Spirit.IN Jesus Name. AMen
