Childlike Innocence

"Mommy", little Kayla asks her mother, "do you love me?" "Of course I do honey", replies the mother. And when she goes ahead and asks, "does Jesus love me too?" "He shure does honey, even more than I do. Actually, you are His favourite". "Okay mommy" and off she goes to play. Children are so innocent in everything and just take what you tell them. Kayla is now happy beacuse Jesus and her mommy both love her, what more could she ask for?

It strikes me, why is it so hard for us to express childlike innocence and faith in God? When God says "He loves us", He is not lying. But why is it so hard for us to believe that sometimes? We always try to look for reasons why this should not be true. But doesn't His word say that He is not man that He should lie nor son of man that He should change His mind? (Numbers 23:19) When God says something, He does not change His mind or go back on His word. It is there to stay and its up to us to believe it or not.

When God says He loves us, why don't we just believe Him? When He says He will give us all things why do we doubt? WhenHe says He hears us when we call, why do we think otherwise?
The answer is: Because we are Human. But you know what makes us peculliar? The LOVE of our Father, Almighty God. His Spirit in us makes us different from all other people and that is why we should throw ourselves at His feet with reckless abandon. He is for us not against us, brothers and sisters (Romans 8:31)

My prayer today is that you will rest in the shadow of His wings, abandon yourself at His feet and let the cares of this world melt away; rest in the shadow of His love and power of His might.
