Good Day~
Last week, as I was writing about Paul's words that "Christ's love compels us"--I began realizing some things
about myself, and my own relationship with the Lord. I picked a book
off my shelf, The Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri Nouwen, and began reading it as collaborative material to expound on God's great love for us.
I came to the realization that has somewhat 'undone' me--I have not
really been living, fully convinced of the great life-giving love God
has for me, as his daughter.
So, I am compelled to take a week off--spend more time on the great love of God, and its life-changing power for all of us. I am going to read Nouwen's
book again, as well as a couple other things--and spend some time in
prayer as well, asking God to reveal again to me just how he feels about
me, his daughter, and you, his son.
I will resume 2 Corinthians the first of next week. Here are a couple verses I will be meditating on:
>Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,"
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54.10
>"Don't be afraid," he said, "for you are deeply loved by God. Be at peace; take heart and be strong!" Daniel 10.19
I would covet your prayers this week.
With great love and affection,
Christine
