Becoming Victorious Christians < parallelism of Manny Pacquiao’s Victory >
Manny Pacquiao,a Filipino ,world famous boxer….won again in his flight!Dec.7 Sunday , after our Worship Service, we had a fellowship in our church for we celebrate the birthdays of our Pastor Roger Bondoc, together with my mom’s bday and my church mate sis. Pops… And because its Pac-Man’s flight we all gather in children’s room to watch the event. While watching Manny’s flight I noticed there’s something in Manny that can consider as an example on how to become a victorious Christian.. ok we’ll make it a parallel to Manny’s characters en ways of living…
First, I notice that every time Manny will flight.. he will pray to the Lord before and after the flight… same as in Christianity…prayer is part of our life style….prayer is our breath..(1Thess 5:17)
Second, when Manny made a TKO to Dela Hoya at round 8.. Manny kneed and pray.. giving thanks to the Lord!.. for as we Christian always acknowledge God’s goodness in our lives… we always give thanks to the Lord (1 Thess.5:18)..
Third, during the time of elections Manny has the heart to serve Filipino people so he runs for the position in the House of the Representatives.. but then He never made it…in boxing yes he may win many times but going to the Congress… God never allowed him to win and be in the politics…Same as we, Christians.. Sometimes we want to do good… but then we don’t know if its right? Its ok to do good, but is it right?... There are times, we made such moves but we don’t care if its right and God’s will for us…(Prov. 16:1-3), (Isaiah 55:8)
Fourth, As Manny flight on the ring… there is Jinkee, his wife… watching him, continuously praying for Manny to our Lord…. And when Manny wins the flight ,of course Jinkee is the happiest woman in the world… Manny’s triumph is also Jinkee’s triumph! So what’s the parallelism on these? As we Christians having such trials and difficulties in life… Always remember, our Lord Jesus Christ is always here for us.. when we are in the battle… It is our Lord Jesus Christ who is fighting for us! And we are like Jinkee… we are more than conqueror!(Romans 8:37)..
