Be Patient

I have been told to be patient by a lot of people I talk to. I admit patience is not one of my strong points, I have to work on being patient. But I dont understand why God being a loving God makes people wait for good things in life that he wants us to have. Why does God allow us to go through hurtful times and trials? Some of us go through trials for years before God intervenes and help us in our life. I can honestly say that I been sincerely crying out to God for about a year and a half now and some days I still feel depressed and miserable and helpless. I feel like God is ignoring me sometimes. I pray and I ask God to just show me that he is really there and I don't get anything. I sometimes come up to the conclusion that God is very angry with me either because of something I've said, the way I acted, or some thought in my head that I thought about. I do ask for forgiveness though when I pray. But I still feel like God is upset with me sometimes.
