APPETITES/DESIRES OF THE SOUL
1. Appetite for the presence of God
This ranks above all the other desires of the soul. It is Gods desire that we come to Him for just who He is not because we want something or you want a message from him to preach. Just like David soul longed for Him. “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;” Psalm 63:1
Do you desire for a presence than His?
2. Appetite to do God’s will
Here you take things a little further by just wanting to do just what He says. Just because you love and reverence Him so much, you are just waiting for His command. Like our high priest did “Jesus saith unto them, my meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work” John 4:34, “…That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:” Acts 17:26-27
Do you cherish someone above Him?
3. Appetite to develop a certain talent for living
It is natural for the soul to desire to develop a certain talent or skill or gift for a living. “Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.” Proverbs 19:2
Do you desire to develop the gift in you?
Psalm 42:1
AS THE hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God. (AMP)
God will respond to you based on your appetites or heart desire. Just like the way he responded to Solomon in I Kings 3:11
