These lyrics help remind me that there is more than life than what the world tells us to chase after.  Success, wealth, fame.. none of that matters in the long run, especially if none if it was used to help others.  I think we need to stay rooted in the fact that God is our provider and that we shouldn't try to do things on our own, for our own desires.  If we lose sight of God and His plan for our life, then we are "lost souls," just like the song says.
