God took Lori's spirit home yesterday at 7:40 p.m. Over a month ago she had invited me over to tea, which was a typical thing...we'd see each other or talk on the phone and talk about just having a nice visit, over a cup of tea. Sadly, her health complications became worse and although we did see each other, we never got to have our tea party.
Yesterday afternoon, I read her "care page" update, her husband said she had lapsed into a coma and was near the end. I prayed for her and for her family all afternoon, that God would show more mercy and take her quickly... After hours of not getting any further word, and after dinner I had some time alone to reflect on our friendship...how much I already missed her and thought about our missed tea date. I decided to make a cup of tea, "Sweet Dreams" herbal blend and drink it, in her honor. I took my tea cup out to my front porch, sat on the stoop and had my visit with Lori, in the spirit. I looked to the heavens and asked God to release her from her earthly prison...and I told her it was alright to go with God. I raised my tea cup in salute and listened to the birds singing and watched them gather their spring nesting supplies...I watched kids playing down the street, so carefree in their play...I watched the purpley blue clouds making beautiful patterns in the evening sky...I breathed in the fresh springtime air and said good bye to my dear friend.
About 30 minutes later, her husband came to tell me she was gone. I am so happy I had my tea with Lori...she knew I was there with her in spirit and I know she'll always be with her family and with me too. I love you Lori...sweet dreams.
