I was at my local gas station yesterday and the pumps I usually frequent (I have to spend between 20 cents and 60 cents above premium gas because my car uses diesel), I had to head on over to the truck pumps.
As I was filling up my eyes noticed a tow truck on the other side of the pump island with the words "Serving you and the Lord." I couldn't help starting into a conversation to the delight of the tow truck owner as we were serving the same purpose.
Whenever I meet a fellow believer in business, I usually try to end the conversation with "What three things can I be praying for you?" Go ahead, try it the next time you see one of us.
Prayer is such a vital necessity and yet those in the church feel a) all business owners are rich; and b) you should not be asking for prayer for your business.
Yet, depending upon whom you speak with, full 40% to 60% of the total budgets of the local church and their community projects and missions worldwide are funded by believers in businss. Should we not also be rope-holders for this key group?
If you know of any Chritians in busiess (or yourself) that would like our growing group to pray for (ether generally or specifically), please let me know.
I'd also lke to hear of your response to asking a believer in business for "three things" he or she would like you to pray for in the coming week. Fair enough?
In His grace,
Steve
