A Lover's Prayer is never a dream

Yet far from a fantasy

Although it may start off as one

Something happens in between



He lives his life so lavishly

Others barely play a role

Until the day he meets this Silence,

That in silence reaches his soul



He goes through careful situations

Strategic, yet selfish about his needs

Still all the painful irritations

Brings him broken to his knees



His heart begins to open up

As his soul begins to merge

With his spirit intervening

He is open and ready to purge



He prays aloud in a murmur

He'd rather no one else to know

He cries and needs to be nurtured

And wants healing for his soul



He prays in only a whisper

His song is like the harp

Which, can only be heard by this same Silence

That has walked upon his heart



He doesn't quite seem to see it

But he sees it just enough

To know how much he needs it

But in fear to open up



This Silence offers him protection

And somehow calms his inner fears

It quietly whispers him directions

In the silence of his ear



"Ssshhh, stop, look and listen"

Says the Silence to the lamb

"If you look a little closer

I am already apart of you, your innerness, your man



You've been searching oh so long

But you've settled just to be

Content in that very moment

While I've been waiting patiently



I am here, so now you've found me

For you've prayed, a remedy

Prayed that I would come along

Hear I am bearing peace"



A Lover's Prayer, as quiet as kept

Must speak the life he lives

To experience in depth the love he prays for

But desires to also give



He must make the kingdom his priority

And all his righteousness too

He must make himself the minority

And let the Silence filter through



He must keep himself in such a way

His prayers only she understands

Embracing all even his weakness

Never judging by his hands



His heart is full of love

And desire for the truth

Praying for continued wisdom

And knowing what is next to do



A Lover's Prayer can only be found

When he recognizes the lost

Of everything, the very thing

That a soul he thinks would cost



Not a diamond in the ruff

Or a stud along the street

He'll recognize what's truly missing

But in Silence shall it be



This Lover's Prayer is not a dream

His spirit always longs to see

That all his needs will be met

If in his prayers, he just believes
