How do you think Jabez's prayer would be if he were here today, and could understand the "New Creation"?

I see there are a lot of people praying this prayer, "sounds pretty good" But this would be a prayer of unbelief if it were prayed today.

 

#1. Oh that you would bless me.

 Ephesians 1:3    Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

 

#2. that thine hand might be with me,

Hebrews 13:5-6  
  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 
  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

 

#3. and that thou wouldest keep me from evil

that it may not grieve me.

 2 Peter 1:3-4   According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 
  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

I feel a lot of people are asking God for things that has already been given to us at the new birth. But if they are not aware of it, then they will ask, and wonder why God didn't answer thier request.

It has a tendency to build doubt, next a wavering faith, and we all know what James says about a wavering faith. James 1:6.
