Psalm 18:20: How Clean Are Your Hands?

"The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; He repaid me according to the cleanness of my hands".

Let me ask you a question. How clean are your hands? Look at them. If they are like mine, they are probably stained somewhat with guilt, sin, and selfishness- the hallmarks of an imperfect life. Fortunately, Jesus Christ came into the world to wash away our sins completely, that we may stand blameless and spotless before God- the hallmark of a Christian life. Thank goodness my hands are a lot cleaner since Jesus came into my life! Now, granted, there are still plenty of opportunities for Christians to get our hands dirty- we just shouldn't take any of them! For God rewards us in heaven based on our conduct here on earth. Is your reward great or tiny? Personally, I am always having to cleanse my hands so that I can receive the greatest reward possible. After all, why should we have to play dirty with God? He rewards the righteous! Even if sin is still in the picture, as it always is, we should break ties with it and repent in order to get back on the good track and start living the good life. How big is your reward today? Well, it won't get any bigger unless you get your hands clean and your heart purified. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go wash my hands.
