How God Sees You
March 28, 2007
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:12-14 NIV)
We find powerful words of encouragement in these verses. God makes four proclamations about the believer in Jesus Christ. Father God proclaims that the believer in Jesus is viewed by Him as forgiven, chosen, holy and dearly loved. Let us take a closer look at these proclamations.
How often do we beat ourselves up unnecessarily over our past sin? We revisit the very things that Jesus came to pay for by dying in our place. When we accept Jesus as Savior, we are covered by His blood and totally changed. We are no longer children of this world. We become the children of God. Galatians 3:26-27 says, “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ” and 1 John 3:1, How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
God loves us as a father loves his child. The difference is that God’s love is perfect and greater than the love found in man. His love is an enduring love that never ceases or fails. Jeremiah 33:11 says, “Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever.” (For further encouragement read Psalm 136)
The covering of Jesus and the love of the Father enables the Father to see us as forgiven, chosen, holy and dearly loved. What we must realize is that when He sees us this way it is not as if God were blinded to our past sins or even overlooks them. God does not put on blinders or turn the other way to be able to tolerate us. He sees us this way because we are truly changed in Christ. The past is no longer there to be viewed by God. The sin and its guilt are gone. Psalm 103:12 says, “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us” and Isaiah 1:18 says, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” The enemy may accuse you before God the Father, but God’s response can only be “What sin? I see no record of sin.” The enemy may accuse you in your thoughts, but you too can respond with “What sin?” In Christ, we are completely forgiven. Can you give praise to God for His great love and forgiveness?
This forgiveness brings about a great change in us. The change is wrought in us by Jesus. What is this change? When Jesus comes in and removes our sin by washing us in His blood the result is a holy individual. The reason is that when sin is removed only that which is pure can be found. There are no impurities. The blood of Jesus fully cleanses. Two verses exemplify this truth well. Hebrews 10:19 says, “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,” If we were not truly holy we could never be granted access to the Most Holy Place. This invitation to enter affirms our new condition. Hebrews 13:12 says, “Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.” We are a holy people set apart for God by God through the blood of Jesus. Do not misunderstand. This is not a holiness that we accomplish on our own. This holiness comes through Jesus. Due to this change, we become holy in Christ. The spirit is completely changed at salvation. The flesh will be changed at the rapture. Regarding this change, we need to be reminded that the change is so radical that it is called being “born again.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
What does it mean to be chosen? We will address two points. 1) It is God Who sought us out. He is the one that makes it all possible. 2) We could not have overcome our sin nor been able to find Him if not for the fact that He sought us out. Our whole life, present and eternal, are wholly dependant upon Him. If you know Jesus as your Savior, then, praise God that He chose you!!!
If you have not come to Jesus for salvation, then you are still lost in your sins. You do not have to remain there. You do not have to face an eternity apart from God. You do not have to experience the torment of eternal existence in the Lake of Fire. You need only to come to Jesus and find forgiveness and new life.
In Christ, we are blessed. We are God's chosen people, holy, dearly loved and fully forgiven.
Take time to reflect on this truth. Take time to give glory, honor and praise to Him Who has done so much for you.

Hey LT,
Thank you so much for your reply. I will write your uestions down and try to figure out what my answers really are. My mind bounces a lot. When I have my answers I will give them to you. Thank you so much for being you. I normally say I never sence the holy spirit but here lately you have been on my mind much. Who knows maybe its Him. I saved several of your biblical writings in my e-mail. I need to dig them out. I lose consutration easily but Im trying. I love your blog teachings. Thanks again.
alienated, I hope yourself and LT do not mind if I give you my thoughts on what you have said. Everything LT said above it's so beautiful and true but sometimes we feel that it is just a beautiful story because somehow it doesn't completely fit with our life.In our life there's still doubt, struggles, and anger sometimes directed towards God but in reality we are really angry at ourselves. God sees you as what you can be . The fact that you express so deeply your desire to change in God's will and still feel remorse from past sins it's a sign that God did sought you. We are not to be enslaved again by the sins we were forgiven of , but a reminder of them will always remain in our mind. David is a good example. He said he confessed his sin that was tormenting him and God Forgave him but he also said in
Psalm 51 :3 For I know my transgressions,and my sin is ever before me.
One does become born again the moment he believes in the sacrifice of Jesus along with repentance and takes it seriously and it's not just an empty prayer , at an altar call pressured by " well all my friends are doing the same ". But it's not like you're instantly changed into a righteous person, You are seen as righteous in God's eyes for the potential you have and because of the blood sacrifice that you accepted by your faith in Jesus, He has already prepared the good works that we are to walk in, and the power of Jesus in us will help us become more and more like Him. All we have to do is surrender completely, crucify our fleshly desires , but nonetheless it's a process not an instant thing. We might be Born Again in Christ but as a baby that needs to grow, some will grow faster than others some might be more obedient than others, and like children we are instructed and corrected, punished even along the way.. it's a blessing to be punished by God because that means that you are His child.
You are very honest, you said you want to change, surrender completely to Him.. we all know the one thing that we struggle with the most, let Jesus carry your burden and pray constantly for guidance and revelation, read daily from His word even when you fell it's convicting you .. it's meant to do exactly that. His word" is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"If you feel like slicing a bible ,,, well sometimes truth bothers, we are like gold cleansed in the fire.. it hurts but we must never resit it .. always be in obedience of His Word.
In the following verses God said "If you are willing and obedient "
16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil,
17 learn to do good;
seek justice,
correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow's cause.
18 “Come now, let us reason[c] together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
20 but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
I hope my post has not upset you in any way, If it did I apologize May God bless you according with His Will.
The fact that you are asking questions is evidence of one of two facts. You are either saved and needing assurance or God is calling you and you have yet to receive Him. If God were not calling out to you you would not give a rip about God, about finding Him, or any of us Jesus freaks (a little humor in the end, but with a point meant as well). I personally believe you are saved and lack assurance, but I don't want to mislead you. I want you to be sure, but again affirm that if God was not calling you would not care about finding Him.
Becoming saved is a work of God. He calls us, enlightens us and demonstrates two things (simplifying this) to us. 1) We are sinners destined to hell and in need of a Savior. 2) Jesus is the Savior and that His dying and shedding His blood is what is required for us to be forgvien and redeemed. I believe that when He has called us and enlightened us that we simply in response to His work receive Him, ask Him to forgive us and save us. Then, the goal is be assured that what God has promised has become mine, not because of what I have done, but because of what He did and has promised. I do not trust in me, but in Him from beginning to end. If it required me to get saved or stay saved I would have no hope. We also do not want to let what others think of us determne our relationship with Him. We need to simply accept what He has said and trust that.
Therefore, saved or not, Janie, though I believe you are saved, I ask the following questions that you may answer openly, privately by email to me or simply between you and God.
1) Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God?
2) Do you believe Jesus died and rose again from the grave?
3) Do you acknowledge that you are a sinner?
4) Do you believe that the blood of Jesus pays the penatly for our sins when we recieve Him?
5) Do you want forgiveness and are you willing to receive Him as your Savior?
6) This is now all about grace and works have no place in this. We are saved by grace through faith.
7) Ask Jesus to save you and come into your life and give you assurance.
Janie, the gift is free, but it came at a hgh price, the life of Christ.
Once we know the truth it really is as simple as asking the Lord to forgive and save you. The Bible says "Everyone who calls ont he name of the Lord will be saved." That includes you.
Lastly, I will always strive to answer your questions. You are precious to God and to Anita and me. There are no ridiculous questions when one is truly seeking to find truth, to find Jesus.
Lord Bless,
LT
actually LT the question i was going to ask is. How does one become "born again"? I know what the bible says ..to believe Jesus died on the cross ect. But I really dont understand. Years ago I was led in a repenting prayer. At that time I believed that that was it. I believed I was born again. But now I dont saying a praayer is what is what it means to become born again.
I would hate to see how God sees me now. I have a question, I may have asked you a dozen times and you may have answered me as many. My question is How does one know if they are being sought out by God? How will they know if they are one of the chosen? How does one get the faith that the bible mentions "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God"? What if you read Gods word but every bit of it is over your head? What if someone trys and trys to get close to God but the rememberance and the feelings of torcher from the past blast you like a bullet and the pain lingers? I so want to change I want God to saught out me and my family. I am so ashamed that I didnt raise my children in a way they should go. I want to have a love for God I want to change.. Is it because I am not chosen LT? Is it because I have dissed God so many times in my life? Is it because I have sliced a bible to pieces before. Is is because I have told Him many time that I hated Him? Thank you for any respnce. I understand if you are busy or if you dont want to answer such a redicoulous question. Or I guess I should say questions.
