When I was a small boy I remember that my Dad was always the first one up and out of bed in the morning. I'm sure it had something to do with him being raised on a farm as the oldest of a rather large family. As the elder son the chores of the day where a priority for him. The morning chores came before everything else. I don't know if my Dad prayed in the morning before chores or as the work was being done. Honestly, I don't have proof that he prayed at all as a young boy. I do know that my…

Fear can and will stop us in our tracks. Rightly so at times. Because fear, healthy fear can keep us alive. Fear can and will also stop us from being the people God meant us to be. Fear can come from lies that we have told ourselves or that others have told us about ourselves. Such as, "I'm just not good enough" or "Your not good enough". "I'm not smart enough"I can never help because I'm just not enough of....Whatever.
In my own life my own brokenness helped reinforce the lies that…

At one time I was a Gentile. A being separated from God by the Law. I was transformed by the blood, given eternal life by his resurrection from the dead. We are now one.

When I joined the United States Marine Corps myself and all of the recruits received in boot camp a guide which the drill instructors called our "red monster". In it was all of the information we as Marines would need to live and get by as new Marines. We had to carry the book with us at all times. We had to read it whenever we found ourselves waiting for something like a class or a training session. We were told to memorize the information because we would be tested on it and our jobs as…

UNITY AND MATURITY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST
Ephesians 4: 1-6 NIV
4 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who…
