Ephesians 4:11-16
11 He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, 13 until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ.

When you meet fellow christians, the first question they ask you is "Are you saved?" Of course I'm saved is always the answer. I asked a student of mine whether she was saved and the answer was "Yes". I further asked her what she understood by being saved. She said that she has accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of her life.
Our coversation took a different turn when the topic on Heaven was raised. I was amazed at her conviction that getting to heaven was very easy,…

As I was growing up I had the notion that Priests, Pastors and religious bodies were special and were more Christlike, without faults. During His time on earth Christ carefully chose His Apostles after spending some time praying to His father over His choice. Each of His chosen apostles had their own faults; one betrayed Him and His favourite denied Him three times when He needed Him most. Over the years I have built up confidence in the religious, seeing the responsibilities and trials…
ContinueThis past three weeks have been very challenging for me. I have been overwhelmed with my work and seemed to be choking in it. Instead of depending on God, my time with Him was practically reduced to nothing. With Him aside, I was faced with the toughest challenges I have ever experienced. In all this chaos, I kept saying to myself, 'God is in control', whereas I had placed Him second in all the chaos around me. Although I called for His help every now and then, I, at the same time…
ContinueI have tried to let go of all unwanted lifestyle of my past and try to live a life worthy of a child of God; all except this one which keeps popping out every now and then - anger. I know the book of James 1 : 19 - 20 says "... be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry" but when I'm overwhelmed with work, the story is different. I get so easily irritated and angry at the least provacation and make utterances that I regret later. Although I apologise for these outbust, I…

Some people think nothing bad should happen to christians because they are children of God. Well, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was not spared from suffering. When Jesus predicts His death in the book of Mark 10, verse 34 states: "They will mock Him, spit on Him, beat Him with their whips and kill Him, but after three days, He will rise again." So if we are His follows, should we be spared? Christians go through many storms in their lifetime, but the good news is…

Over the years I've come to realise that everything has a purpose in my life. Nothing happens in my life without a reason. The all seeing, all knowing God is always around when we go through life's blessings and difficulties... nothing happens behind His back. I've learned to accept that there is a lesson to be learnt in whatever situation I find myself. Whenever we encounter challenges in our faith journey, the way we deal with them determines whether we move a level forward or a level…
ContinueHe is kind, tolerant and patient with us and gives us time to turn from our sins ;
The Good News tells us how God makes us right in His sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the scripture says it is through faith that a righteous person has life.
What else can we ask of a God who does not take sides but treats everyone equally? It gives me hope to know that I am worth a lot to Him. May He be glorified always. One of His promises that…
