It seems as though “amelioration” should have a central place and function in all of ones efforts and engagements. Ours is a world of flux and people need and long for some semblance of stability. Just think of the result if we entered into situations – even if there is a degree of risk – to try to ameliorate rather than ignore. The purpose would be to make something better, or to bring about improvement.
The political candidates for President of…

YOUR LOVE, O LORD, IS ALWAYS PRESENT
I HAVEN'T BEEN THE ONE TO RECIEVE THIS LOVE IN THE PAST.
FOR I REFUSED TO LET YOU IN.
AS MY LIFE DRIFTED ON, I KNEW I NEEDED TO COME TO YOU.
I REFUSED, AND WENT MY OWN WAY.
ONE DAY I HEARD MORE CLEARLY OF YOUR LOVE FOR ME.
AND IT TOOK MY BREATH AWAY.
I KEPT REPEATING IN MY HEAD, THE SPOKEN WORDS OF YOUR LOVE,
THEY TOLD I COULD FIND ALL THE SPOKEN WORDS FROM YOU, IN THIS BOOK
CALLED THE " THE BIBLE " .
IT TOOK…

I had perhaps one of the roughest nights I've had in a long time. In my dream, I was w/ a guy I highly admire (who's a current youth minister) & his wife, & a girl I knew when I lived in the college dorms years ago (Fawn). We were at a gang-infested bar. We definitely didn't fit in. This bar's where all the gang bangers hang. Well, in the bar there was a guy that looked like a tank (around 7'5", 400 lbs, white, & stone-faced). He didn't fit in like everyone else either. When I… Continue

There is another dimension to the subjects of jocularity, humor, jokes and happiness, namely, the Therapeutic. The idea is gleaned from Proverbs 17:22, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” A similar thought is shared in Proverbs 15:13, “A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.” There is a connection being made between the psychological and the physiological. It is not an artificial… Continue

First of all there is no way i could ever thank everyone enough for all your support and prayers, life just wouldnt be the same without all the brothers an sisters to share it with, praise God for all these wonderful people.
My son actually left the hospital today which is truly a blessing. When his physical therapist came in yesterday they said he was stronger than they anticipated. He was mvoing around good, moving his arms and his leg. He ended up having two plates in his left arm with…

The idea of jocularity is understood by the definition, namely, “Characterized by joking; Given to joking.” Humor is part of our total being. We have an emotional range that enables us to move from weeping to laughter depending on the circumstances surrounding one. And indeed, the Bible allows (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 states some obvious contrasts in life): “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a… Continue

Most have heard the phrase: “Birds of a feather flock together.” As we have been faithfully nurtured by parents and grandparents, they warned us about the company one chooses to keep. It’s based on the idea of birds of a feather flocking together. Another phrase that flows from these expressions is that one can fall under the banner of “guilt by association”! All of these are cautionary phrases so ones value system directs one to make the right choices… Continue

1Corinthians(2:1)
1)Dear brothers,Even when I first came to you I didn't use lofty words and brilliant ideas to tell you God's message.2)For I decided that I would speak only of Jesus Christ and his death on the cross.3)I came to you in weakness-timid & trembling.4)And my preaching was very plain, not with alot of oratory and human wisdom, but the HOLY SPIRIT's power was in my words, proving to those who heard them that the message was from God.5) I did this because I wanted your faith to…

I have really been struggling with anger lately. I am outraged often, the littlest thing sets me off. Not sure what the issue is. Alot of times, my hubby accuses me of things that I am not doing. Nothing big, just things around the house or whatever. It is hard. I also have been very tempted with sins I have overcome, years ago. Pray for me please!

Graham Cooke shares his passionate views about the purpose and role of New Testament prophets.
When you talk to Graham Cooke, you can sense he’s been hanging out with God. He’s at the same time down-to-earth and full of spiritual wisdom on everything from prayer to spiritual warfare to prophecy to intimacy with God. Cooke is well known for his prophetic training programs and has a passion to build prototype churches that can reach our postmodern society. God also uses him to help…

In two and a half weeks I am suppose to move into the dorms at Tabor College. A great Mennonite Brethren college. I am M.B. and it just fells right to me to be going there. but nothing has gone right yet. Its private so its expensive and out of state for me, so that makes it even more expensive. I got a few grants and scholarships from the school but I still need to cover about half of the costs. I have been turned down time after time for loans and my mother refuses to co-sign a loan with me.…

Its God whispering again.
Psalm 11 !
In the town, I accidentally turned to the small pocket Bible, so it is NOT by chance, It is the way God speaks to me. He is the Way , the Truth and Righteous One.
Amazing, you got to BELIEVE.
Coming home, I saw this page 7 ( Genesis 7 ) left opened earlier of my NIV Bible.
God once again proved He is the living God and Faithful One!
Speak to Him through His Words, the Bible.
Ask Him to fill you the Holy…

Imagine the God creation in Seven days,
My wife and I were walking in the park, I decided we walked 7 rounds the field. Meantime I told her briefly Genesis about creation in 7 days.
When we arrived home, I puzzled a while, it's 7 am !
That was the first morning walk I impromptu thought of....
God is alive.
GOD TESTS US
Looking back, it has been marvelous how Jesus shows me his presence and test after test.
Thanked you for yr prayers. I am…

Reality and Integrity are two worthy aspirations. Most people are weary of the façade approach to life and the inability to be straightforward in responses. If one asks a politician a “Yes” or “No” type question, it seldom is the response. There is usually several sentences shared and the point of the question is obscured by intentional vague rhetoric.
It is interesting to note in an editorial comment by Peggy Noonan in the Wall Street Journal… Continue
