*God's Way is Victory*
"He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones" (Proverbs 2:7-8, NIV).
On a daily basis our number one enemy, or best friend can be ourselves, toward ourselves. Within our occupations, our personal lives, and just life in its self , our attitude and thoughts can determine our success, or failure in our efforts trying to…

*Jesus My Friend* By Jesse James November 25, 2008
Many days when things seem depressing, feeling defeated, and just wanting a friend to talk to can seem to be unachieveable. Tears of pain, hurt, and etc., can fill our days of feeling so unworthy and so alone. In search of relief, it can feel like we are all alone with no one to hear our hearts cry. Even if there was, the fear of being judged, condemned or be unaccepted could prevent us from sharing our heaviness. Fear of exposure…

*New Things Bring Change*
Isa 43:19(NIV) See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
How often have we sat back and thought about what God has created in us? Too many times we can feel burnt out and lacking in direction. What can make us feel so dry and torn down? Many times you can see those who are quite rigid in tradition, and in fear of any thought of moving outside it's…

*What is Truth?*
By Jesse James
Many times we can embrace those lingering thoughts that captivate our minds. Then there are those secretive ones that stand out from all the others, and we try to convince ourselves we have suppressed them deep into our confidential inner prison to prevent any ill-responses toward us. Some of the reasons that can restrain us from accepting honest feedback can be our pride, fear, what if someone finds out about my thoughts, and on…

I have said that it is safer to be in a dangerous place IN the will of God, than to be in a SAFE place OUTSIDE of God's will. Well, I had been hoping to make my eighth mission trip to Peru this year, but the Lord indicated otherwise. When I spoke to my Pastora, she said the word she kept getting was "PRUNING." In John 15 it speaks about fruitful branches being cut back so that they can bear more fruit. My trip last summer was so very fruitful. Relationships were strenghthened, new ones…

From My Perspective - - -
An old expression goes something like: “The more things change, the more they remain the same!” And so it appears with our nation and the political actions and appointments since Inauguration Day 2009. A Candidate and a Political Ambition promising “Change” and “Yes!, We Can!” and no more Lobbyists and business as usual approach has already proven to be false. From outcries against Billion Dollar Deficits during the previous administration to the glibness… Continue

(Some more discoveries in the Jesus Discovery group!)
I got thinking about
LIGHT AND LIFE...
"In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." (John 1:4, NKJ)
As it says in 1 Timothy 6:16, about how
He dwells in unapproachable light! And one of our group said,
"Light is the essence of the universe."
This got me thinking about the most powerful light and energy source we know,
the SUN. Yet it was created by Him who is…

To truly love you have to give up control and risk getting hurt. This is a scary thing; however, those who won’t take the risk will not get to truly know what love is or how great it feels. To truly love God, you have to give up yourself. You give up control of your life, and you place it in God’s hands. Then and only then will you begin to receive all the love God has for you.
Lack of trust is a wall between you and God. That wall must be broken down before true relationship can… Continue

Do you sometimes find it difficult to motivate yourself to spend time with the Lord? When we think about that, it really doesn't make sense. God has all the power and all the wisdom that we could ever need. Why do we go and ask other people what to do about a situation when we should be asking the one who knows everything. I think some of it is because when we talk to another person, they are right in front of us. We can see them, hear them, and touch them. It doesn't take any faith to talk… Continue

To live by faith means to "Totally Trust God for Everything!" Now really think about that. "Everything". Your job, your spouse, your relationships, your money, your car, your positions, and every situation. Everything! It means when things don't make sense in the natural that you have the belief that God is working everything out, even when it looks like things are falling apart. It is knowing that things are actually falling "together". It means trusting that everything will be ok. How hard… Continue

Abortion has serious spiritual consequences. Do you belong to one of the religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc.) that believes the section of the Bible that Christians call the Old Testament? See what it says.
Genesis 1:27 says God made mankind "in His own image." Obviously we are different than the animals, and God views us as special--including the baby He has made in your womb.
People often consider pregnancy an accident, but God takes credit for forming the baby…

“Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "You are a God who sees"; for she said, "Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?" (Gen.16:13 NASV)
This story in Genesis chapter sixteen is about a situation that arose because Abram and Sarai had taken matters into their own hands because Sarai could not have children.
Sarai talked Abram into taking her slave Hagar to be his wife so that they might have…

Earlier tonight, like a good Christian, I was reading my Bible for our group, Jesus Discovery. We're looking at the first five verses where John claims that Jesus was/is God.
Anyhow, I got interrupted from my train of thought by an email from a Facebook contact. So instead of coming here, I went to Facebook and checked up on what my family and friends were up to. Anyhow, after some scouting around there, I ended up reading a political report about the financial mess the Rudd…

KANDHAMAL: From outside, the situation appears normal in Orissa's Kandhamal district, which witnessed large-scale anti-Christian violence five months ago. But interaction with locals and administration officials on Monday made it clear that the divide on the lines of religion, caste and political affiliations was hampering restoration of peace.
Although life turned a bit normal with the opening of some schools and colleges, distrust among those belonging to…

I Am A Christian…
Christianity is a life style….
Relationship with God is a lifestyle..
The apostle Paul gave us his definition in Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ, therefore it is no longer I, but Christ, who lives in me: and the life which I now live in the this physical body, I live by the faith of the Son of God" "It is no longer I, but Christ"…

...GOD HAD A PLAN!!
(I shared this in the Jesus Discovery group. We've just started into John's gospel. If you'd like to join us just ask for an invite.)
He knew that His prize creation, we humans, would sin. He knew that we would mess up His wonderful creation. He knew that we would turn our back on Him. Yet, He still chose to create us.
(I've just done a little search and found this...)
Before God created… Continue

I own my own business. As a life coach, my business rates in Catagory 3. Catagory 1 has to do with shelter and food; Catagory 2 is about dental care and gas. Catagory 3 is about interior decorators and counselors. There are days when I can't see where the next client is coming from and I feel troubled.
My husband of 36 years just completed seven weeks of daily radiation/chemo for cancer. I think he is going to live, but sometimes I feel troubled.
The uncertainty of life…

God has used this time of pain to teach me many lessons. I'm amazed of how much he has taught me and is teaching me even in such a short time. I'm learning to be content with who God has made me. This has been a realization that i just couldn't grasp for so long. I'm a recovered anorexic and God has brought me through that but i still have a problem with grasping his love and beauty for me and even my body. When i first had problems walking i refused to get a cart at walmart. "What will they…

A few of us have started a discovery into John's gopel. The group is called Jesus Discovery. It's not a study where you have someone teaching the others, but rather it IS a DISCOVERY, where we are all discovering more about Jesus together.
Anyhow, here's something that the Lord unfolded to me this morning from our reading in chapter 1. John starts off:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning."…
