HOW TO BE A GOOD WIFE
Home Economics High School Text Book, 1954
Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal, on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.
Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so that you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up…

“14And when Jesus went into Peter's house, He saw his mother-in-law lying ill with a fever. 15He touched her hand and the fever left her; and she got up and began waiting on Him,” (Matthew 8:14-15).
The instant Jesus healed this woman, she began to serve Him. What an awesome servant’s heart. She didn’t simply beg for healing, express her gratitude, and then go about her way. She instantly got up and began serving Jesus, as if to say, “I would have served You sooner, Lord, but I was…

Good Morning. Acts 1.9-10 After He said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and
a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood
beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into
heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."
After He had said what? Really,…

GOD OF THE IMPOSSIBLE
“A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.
“You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.” And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” When Jesus heard this,… Continue

Of Blood and Sacrifice.
The Body cannot live without the blood. If you had a perfect body and you would change the blood to clear water, the body would die. Why? The life of the Body is the Blood. The same thing applies to the body of a Christian and also, the Church as a whole. Without the Blood, the Body would die. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an…

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.
He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods.
He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target.
Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner.
As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.
Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved!
In a panic, he hid the…

From My Perspective - - -
What defines who or what you are? In many instances, the things that define a person can be Family; Heritage; Region (Farm versus City; Rural versus Urban); Education; Religious Values; Political Orientation; Mindset; Motivation (or lack of same); Marriage; Sense of Responsibility/Duty; Ambition; etc. The list could easily be much longer – but these are some of the things that define one. On the other hand, there are those who are all too willing to… Continue

Which Way to Heaven?
Reverend Billy Graham tells of a time early in his ministry when he arrived in a small town to preach a sermon. Wanting to mail a letter, he asked a young boy where the post office was. When the boy had told him, Dr. Graham thanked him and said, "If you'll come to the Baptist Church this evening, you can hear me telling everyone how to get to heaven."
The boy replied, "I don't think I'll be there... You don't even know your way to the…

Good Morning.
So once again, they press Jesus to know if this would be the time He would set things straight in Israel--topple Rome's tyranny of the Jews, and set up His kingdom. Jesus replies, "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1.8 (in bold) I suppose this verse…

Do you worship your God or your ministering role model?
I often see articles that intend to discredit everything about individual ministers. Why? Are we at times so self righteous and shallow that we expect our ministers to have all the right answers? Do we esteem them as though they should represent the fullness of our Lord, Jesus Christ? We should be careful not to. Why? Because the bible says so. We are told to not worship idols. It is a direct command. Do we tend to idolize our…

What entices you to read a book? The title? The author? Subject matter? Someone's recommendation? Personal growth? Because it is the sequel to a book you loved? All of these and more are reasons why you are going to love the book of Acts. Fully named, "The Acts of the Apostles," the work takes up where the Gospel of Luke leaves off, and has even been referred to as the fifth gospel. I invite you to join me as we witness what came next for the band of men and women who followed Jesus once He…

What does Jesus mean when he says,
Take care then how you hear, for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away (Luke 8:18)?
He is applying the parable of the four soils (Luke 8:12-15). Notice the connection between “take care how you hear,” and the focus in hearing in the parable.
“The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the…

WHO IS BARNABAS?
I would like for us to take some time to examine the life of an extraordinary Christian, Barnabas. What makes him so extraordinary (to me) is that in the relatively short time span of his recorded life in scripture, he has such a great impact upon the church and those around him.
He enters the scene in the book of…

Ok, everybody. I didn't go to church this morning. I was kinda burnt out after going to the study the other nite and just needed a break from ritual. I don't want my going to church to become a habit, or worse yet, a rut. I want it to feel new and fresh, and I actually want to go because I feel the urge to be there with the Lord and all my brothers and sister, and not because I am expected to be there.
I was glad when Todd finally made it home yesterday. It was awful without him and…
