You have a loving, generous Heavenly Father, who longs to give you good gifts.
Do you cast your eyes toward Heaven and think, "God wants to give me good gifts - after all, he is my father"? Truly, have you ever stopped and thought about the nature of the Father's heart toward you? It seems that God is portrayed as 'Father' in the Old Testament rather sparingly, but when Jesus started teaching, it was his…

..because there really is no excuse for weakness
How many times have I been to New York City? I am not sure, but I have never had either a bad time or negative experience... that is pretty great.
I fondly remember standing in a coffee store one morning in the city, (dang, what I wouldn't give to do that right now--but with restrictions a plenty... coffee shop in NYC ...really? Not so much. Oh Pret a Manger, take me…

Think well…grow your mind.
It doesn’t matter whether you are a businessperson, at-home mother, engineer, college student, teacher or retired person—the way you think really impacts every aspect of your life.
God himself puts a premium on good thinking … how do I know that? God clearly values wisdom, which is the gain of one who regularly thinks well. I’m wondering how David instilled this in his son, Solomon, who asked God for wisdom…

Do you think good thoughts?
Can we be honest for a minute? The craziness of the last year and a half has made some of us feel like our heads are in a vice--some days with the clamp getting tighter and tighter. If we are not careful, our thoughts take us to deep mine shafts where we are not meant to be!
Truth: many of us are held captive by our thinking.
Fact is, we have within our incredible God-given brains…

God's Love Language.
"Her love language is acts of service, definitely not gifts; she isn't into gifts--greeting cards either," a husband said to me about how his wife receives and feels love. The Five Love Languages1 is an insightful book about how people feel best loved; it has helped a generation better understand and communicate love to those who matter…

Comedian Lily Tomlin once asked why people who talk to God are said to be “praying”, but those who hear him talk back are called “schizophrenic”. Funny, but perhaps a ring of truth. In the last several briefings we have looked at the various ways God speaks and today is another - though maybe not as obvious - way. Vitally important and yet easily missed, as to origin.
God does indeed still speak … that is the topic at hand. Yes, I certainly believe the canon…

One powerful prayer.
Because sometimes it is nice for someone to put words to the thoughts and needs you have in your life.
Many of the lines of this prayer are drawn right out of the pages of Scripture, noted at bottom. There is such power praying God’s words back to him!
Dear Heavenly Father,
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have…
