Breaking News from the Front. Brooklyn Tabernacle ~ October, 2013
Hi.
She was a student that had been active at Fellowship of Christian Athletes, but has graduated. She used to live just about two miles from my home, though she is now a college student about 500 miles away … wondering. Wondering how to distinguish the difference between the Lord’s voice and her own, reaching out as she was through a cellphone text message.
And me? Well, it is my privilege…

I have been a Christian for over thirty years. I estimate that in my Christian lifetime I have attended upward of a couple of thousand church services, hundreds of chapels at Wheaton College, and scores of Christian meetings at retreats, conferences, and so on, held by Campus Crusade and other groups. Yet during this entire time I have never once—not a single time in…

My dear beloved,
I am Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God.
I am writing to God’s online community for Christ (AAG or simply TheNET), to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and…

Hmmm … Why did Paul write to Timothy? Who was this man, and why was he special?
Timothy was from Lystra, a city in what is the southern area of modern day Turkey. What an interesting life he led! And how well-suited to be mentored by the apostle Paul. While his father was Greek, and irreligious, his mother Eunice, was a Jewish woman who became a Christian after listening to Paul’s teaching about the Messiah Jesus. His…

Are you A Watchman
Ezekiel 3:17-21
17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18 When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for[a] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19…

I remember I've been told by mom not to ever cry in front of anyone. Her uncle taught her that it makes you look weak.
Is that true? I guess that plays a role in why I have had trouble feeling pain. I've been afraid I'd disobey mom if I cried in front of others.
And I need to say something else to rid me of this burden. I need to finally get this off my chest. I remember in 11th grade for some reason I had a bad case of stuttering. My mom thought I needed a nut…

5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said,“I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,”
6 so that we confidently say, “THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?” 7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. 8 Jesus…

The contrast of Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God…

Gal. 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. The Holy Spirit brings about a change in people with their Ambitions, Attitudes, Actions, Affections and Emotions. Every area of our lives begins to change when we "sincerely" follow the Lord. …
