I am  learning as a believer we are to daily attach ourselves to the grace of God.Living in our own strength is nothing but hard labor and toil. This why Jesus said this in Matthew 11: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Jesus did not come to give us the burdensome of keeping the commandments in our own power.
