Proverbs 25: 6-7 (MSG) Don't work yourself into the spotlight; don't push your way into the place of prominence. It's better to be promoted to a place of honor than face humiliation by being demoted.
In an interview with Larry King, Donald Trump observed that pretenders to success often spend too much time talking to him about all they have done. He has observed that successful people, on the other hand, spend the time learning -- asking questions about his…

From My Perspective - - -
An old Ballad from an Off-Broadway Show in the 1960s – The Fantasticks – repeats a phrase: “Try To Remember When Life Was So Tender…Our hearts should Remember...Try To Remember, And If You Remember…” An oft-repeated Statement: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." is an appropriate one for our day and time. Today (May 25th) is designated Memorial Day – a time to Remember those who died in the military when they had been called… Continue

Proverbs 22:1 (NIV) A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
For everyone, especially leaders, two attributes are more desirable than all the wealth we can accumulate: to be well spoken of and to be held in high esteem by others.
Both point to personal purpose: knowing who you are and what your purpose is. I hope you have a handle on that.
A.W. Tozer offered seven “tests” for us to use when we…

I heard this statement this morning, and how so true! For God only SAID: Let there be light!! and so it was!
God spoke the words and it came to fulfillment! Awesome
Can we do that? Speak into your circumstance, your situation and change it, make it new, create something out of nothing ?
No not usually... and I thought why not?
BEcause we do not accept the grace of God!
When we are introduced by God, it is in our hands if we are accepting Him or rejecting…

Hello everyone. I finally found an NA group at a local Catholic parish and attended for the first time on Thursday of last week. It was enlightening. The majority of the people in the group were very young and all part of the same Job Corps that my son graduated from more than a month ago. This did not both me much, but I did long for people my own age to relate to. They all went around and shared their experiences, but it took so much time that the hour was up before we knew it and I had no…

I just bought a new book by Gregory A. Boyd titled "The Myth of a Christian Nation". Gregory is well educated and has written many books on the subjects of Christ and Theology.
My problem with this book is this:
1. The book has a total of 9 chapters 189 pages total. So for the most part it is a small book.
2. The subject of this book is to explain to all of us why he thinks politics and the Church shouldn't be mixed. As in the church should not indorse any political party.…

Acts 6:1-7
In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this…

I received a new book in the mail yesterday. Some time ago I stubbled upon a website that caught my attention. A Lutheran paster was imprisoned for his Faith, and was beaten, starved, and most other unheard of things.
Well, to make along story short, after his release he wrote this book called "Torture for Christ" By Richard Wurmbrand.
Started the first chapter late last night and it's amazing!
I wish all of you have the chance to see this wonderful book.
God bless.....

I'm sure you're probably wondering why in the world I would say something like that about the Co. Jail! I would never have said that in the 'old days!' Well, it's sweet because GOD ROCKS IN THE JAIL, that's why!!
I went back in last night, after what seems like months of not being there, and it was 'sweet!'
I sat in the parking lot and waited for time to go in. I was praying and all day I was asking the Lord to…

We read in the Bible that Jesus went about doing good. (See Acts 10:38.) That included many, many healings and deliverances. And because we are Christ's, we too will only want to seek to do good to others.
However, there is a trap!! We must be careful not to get so caught up in good works, that we are not doing God's work.
Let's look how Jesus handled all this when He was on earth. Even though He was God, He was human like us, with the limitations of a physical body. He…
