I memorized the following verses from the Living Bible when I was 11 years old: “From James, a servant of God to Jewish Christians scattered abroad, Greetings! Dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy, for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow and don't try to…

Happy are they who reflect his faith, seeking a depth without bound. Lord, it is good that we are here to see that faith which others have found.....
May God bless you with his love, always fill you with his love; may he hold you in the hollow of his hand. For the Lord is with you in goodness and…

Before we move on to Paul’s letter, Colossians, and a new format for Morning Briefings, I would like to invite you to refresh yourself with where we have been, since we began our journey together, almost four years ago, now? My beginning briefings emanated from the book of James, a brilliant, masterful letter written to Jewish Christians. It is filled with wisdom that has…

While in my quiet time alone my mind wandered back
To the time I was growing up and never was in lack
My parents worked really had to see that we were fed
To keep a roof over us and we all had our own bed
When Sunday morning came around we went to church each week
After Sunday school we'd go hear the preacher speak
There we learned the hymns of old and to ths very day
I wish I could go back in time to the old fashioned way
When things…

The Heavens Opened: Part 13
By Anna Rountree
(Continuation)
The Bowels Of The Dragon
The white eagle flew into a darkened tunnel that seemed to be a passageway through a mountain, but the walls were like part of a living organism, resembling an intestine. The sides of the walls seemed packed with fecal matter, and the stench was nauseating and overpowering.
An Attack: The Flesh:
Although I was with the white Eagle, the filth and…

Back in September, we began studying Paul’s letter to the Philippians, though now ‘it is finished’ . . . we have come to the end. What a letter it has been! I feel like I learned more about Paul’s softer side, as he expressed his love for his Philippian brothers and sisters repeatedly and in several different ways. Everything Paul lived for…

Hi Dear friends, I would like your opinion on this subject please. Where do we draw the line between receiving encouragement and being proud.
If you can provide Scripture to explain your views that would be wonderful.
Remember... God loves you and so do I.
From Judith x
We are companions on the journey
breaking bread and sharing life
and in the love we bear
is the hope we share
for we believe in the love of our God
Amen

Courage is the price which life exacts for granting peace
The soul that knows it not knows no release from little things
Knows not the livid loneliness of fear
Nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear

The Word is Living! The Word of God is Alive! We are the ones who transform. As we develop and change by, humbling ourselves before God. The Spirit shows us, the Truth in the Word. We mature through and by the Spirit of God, who lives in each of us. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. His Word never changes, it is our understanding and knowledge that does. In Ephesians 4 the Plan has been laid out for us. It would be best that we all read the chapter. I am going to break parts of…

I was brought up to follow Christ In Good Times and Bad:
"Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him." (Psalm…

I recently brought my 11 month old grandson, Nathan, home to Nana's for a two day visit. Nathan is absolutely a light in my life. He is however, sometimes a very fussy and demanding baby. He and I spent those two days playing with toys, going on a shopping trip, and just spending some quality time together laughing and playing. The last night he was with me for his visit, he was really fighting sleep and just very hard to comfort. I remembered something that just calms and soothes me…

Imagine a green, lush pasture. In the pasture are many sheep and the loving Shepherd standing close by ready to lead and protect them. The sheep are very content.
Now imagine another pasture. This one's not as lush as the other. Lots of rocks in the ground and just patchy grass here and there. This pasture has lots of goats in it. And the keeper of the goats isn't paying much attention to them. Yet they follow him, listening to his lies about greener pastures and being led in one…

James 1:2-4 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (NASB)

Our Only Hope is Jesus: "Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption." (Acts 2:26-27)

Despite the trials of this earthly world
and the continued foolishness of men,
God wants His Principles completely unfurled -
For He loves His Children, while hating sin.
His anger is not turned away
and yet His Hand is outstretched still.
Our Salvation awaits its appointed day
with the meshing of our spirits to His Will.
As long as we continue to breathe,
there's Hope for us to loving cleave;
He's promised that His Spirit will never leave…

Once my earthly journey is complete,
humbly I'll stand before Your judgment seat.
So in advance I faithfully pray to have
a positive ruling for you to mete.
Grace and mercy carried me;
Your covering on my life you should see.
Hopefully You'll remember that I
promoted Your Kingdom for eternity.
Despite flaws and failures absurd,
hidden in my heart is Your Holy Word.
An attitude of lifelong praise I've spoken
based on what I've…

Preparations by the Groom have been completed;
He joyfully awaits the day
that marks the remainder of eternity
when the Church shall be swept away.
He has created a wondrous place
where rows of mansions are perfectly aligned.
Angels will sing beautiful songs
announcing souls' arrival; including yours and mine.
Despite imperfections of His bride,
the Lord daily intercedes with heartfelt prayer.
The celestial wedding feast shall take place…

Nobody mourned its impending death . . . no one talked about how much it would be missed. No billboards or television commercials warned of the void it would leave . . . yet, just like that, it has almost vanished as a viable connection of hearts, of happenings and goings-on, as exchange of cordialities, and recording of historical events—it is the irreplaceable hand-written letter.…
