- My story with God
- I had been extremely depressed for a while. I felt hopeless, worthless and as though no one could ever love me(what set this off was a B in a class that I had figured I'd gotten an A in...I'm a perfectionist:/ I know it's ridiculous) But I felt a void, something was missing, I believe this feeling was the voice of God urging me to come to him, it was Christ knocking on the door of my heart pleading with me to stop beating myself up. After trying antidepressant/anti-anxiety prescriptions and counseling, I still had a feeling I needed to fill a void in my heart. So one night I began praying, just starting out as "Lord I need help..." but it turned into a ten minute cry to Christ because I needed Him in my life. Since then, whenever I have a negative thought, I turn to the LORD because I know He has a purpose for me. I am now a commissioned Ensign in the Navy and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maine with a Bachelor's in Nursing. There are still times when the anxieties of my future overshadow the fact that I am purely blessed to be given this second chance to live out God's purpose for me. There are even times when I feel the weight of the "Real World" I am about to enter and it threatens to consume my every thought, but then I remember Christ's charge to me to not worry, but then the Spirit gently tugs at my heart and reminds me to pray about everything and to seek Christ first in everything I do. I have gotten into the habit of reading daily scripture, daily devotions, and silent prayer time with the Lord to keep me on the straight an narrow- and to also get me closer to this awesome, LOVING, Magnificent, powerful God who has accepted a wounded, scarred, sinful, flawed person such as me into His glorious kingdom. I will never understand why He loves me, but He does and it is my job to thank and serve Him until the end of my existence here on this earth. To quote on of my favorite singers ever, Nicole C. Mullen "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow".

- I am very passionate, sensitive, intense and yes, much stronger than I ever thought possible because the Lord has given me strength. He is merciful, and has forgiven so much. I can only raise my arms in joyous praise to Him. He is my life, my strength and my salvation. Without Him I would have NO feet to stand on!<3 Praise God!
