Welcome to the site, Phillip. My 29 year old son is in the Army in Germany. He was married at age 18 and then went into the service. She left him about two years after he joined. I was also an Army wife in my first marriage during the 1980s. (I'm getting old).
After a year in Kuwait and a couple of years settling into his new job in Germany, he finally found someone who is really suited to him and they married last year. This is to encourage you that life will move on. Persevere and take courage from knowing that the joy of the Lord truly is your strength.
Gratitude is always a great way to drive the storm clouds away. Some days I have to make a list of very basic things like food and shelter and such, but other days are better.
The Psalms are such a wonderful example of relationship with Jesus. David just lays it on the line with God. He holds nothing back, but always ends by reminding himself of God's glory.
Rebecca St. James has an album by the title "Pray". On this album is a song called "Hold Me Jesus". I downloaded the mp3 album the other day for about $6 I think at amazon.com. It may be on youtube as well. But it's an awesome way that I feel the arms of Jesus comforting me when I'm in great sorrow or loneliness. (Even being married now with three adult children and three teens, I can still feel very lonely at times. We all share a cry of the heart in moments of discouragement.
You are always welcome to write to me and share how you're doing. Sometimes we have to live just one moment at a time...but all things really do work together for our good when we rely on the lordship of Christ and the strength He offers us. There is a chance for growth in everything. Peace to you this evening...with only 15 min to go until midnight! I didn't realize it had gotten so late. Rest well.
