WHAT'S A CHURCH?
A well-worn one-dollar bill and a similarly distressed twenty-dollar bill arrived at a Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. As they moved along the conveyor belt to be burned, they struck up a conversation. The twenty-dollar bill reminisced about its travels all over the country.
"I've had a pretty good life," the twenty-dollar bill proclaimed. "Why I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City , the finest restaurants in New York , performances on Broadway, and even a cruise to the Caribbean "
"Wow!" said the one-dollar bill. "You've really had an exciting life!"
"So tell me," says the twenty-dollar bill, "where have you been throughout your lifetime?"
The one dollar bill replies, "Oh, I've been to the Methodist Church , the Baptist Church, the Lutheran Church."
The twenty-dollar bill interrupts, "What's a church?"
BIGGER TURKEY-
A woman walks into a butcher's shop just before closing time and asks, "Do you have any turkey?"
The butcher opens his fridge, takes out his only turkey and puts it on the weighing scales. It weighs six pounds.
The woman looks at the turkey and at the scales and asks, "Do you have one that's a bit bigger than this one, please?" The butcher puts the turkey back into the fridge and then takes it out again, but this time when he puts it on the scales he keeps his thumb on the turkey. The scales now show eight pounds.
"That's wonderful," says the woman. "I'll take both of them, please!"
Hello.. Pastor Anthony.. nice to know that you added me as one of your friends in Christ.. im very much blessed, you know.. thank you very much Godbless you and your family....i love you as God loves you very much...
I am glad to kow that after you waited on the Lord in prayer and fasting the Lord assured you He will supply your needs. Indeed, too many ministers are putting the name of the Lord to shame by professing to be called of the Lord into His service, and then going out looking to men to supply their needs for the work of the Lord. The Lord, even if miraculously, provides for the work He calls us to do. If He doesn't provide for anything we are involved in then it is a sign He is not interested in it - it might just be our own ambitious work.
I am praying for you and Miriam. Let the Holy Spirit lead you in everything you do. God bless you.
Antony, I thank you so much for the inspiring note you left on my age. It was very encouraging to me, my brother. Thanks for your prayers. I know I need the Holy Spirit in every aspect of my life, especially in fulfilling the Lord's work for me here on earth. You are a very humble brother. Fear not. The Lord gives grace to the humble, and He will give you grace that you will not lack anything you need to support your family and the ministry He has appointed to you. Trust Him. Greet your wife, Miriam. God bless you and your entire family and household. I am praying for you.
