My story with God
For most of my life my father was a pastor, I've known and accepted Jesus from a young age. I, of course, fell in with the wrong crowd as a young adult and drifted away from God. After a while I got out of that life and got back into church. A few years later my father when through some trouble at the church and resigned as pastor. He has since then been bitter about churches in general and plans to never walk into one again. For a few years now I have not gone to church. Reacently, however, a friend from work and I have been regaining our fire for Christ and I belive that I have found a good new church home. Currently I am trying to figure out what God has planned for me.

Soul food for the Day: The CENTER...

The center chapter of the BIBLE is Psalm 118.. there are 594 chapters before and after Psalm 118
And if we will add this we will get 1188... in which the center verse of the BIBLE is PSALM 118:8
What is the significant of Psalm 118:8 in God's perfect will for our lives?
It is better to trust in the LORD, than to put confidence in man.-- Psalm 118:8

When things get tough, always remember faith doesn't get you around trouble..
it gets you through it!
When you relinquish the desire to control your future you obtain happiness...

Prayer:
Father God, bless my friend in whatever it is that you know he/she may be needing this day....
May thier life be full of your peace, prosperity and power as they seek to have closer relationship with you. Amen...

New Heart, New life,& Renewing mind ….

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and
Renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
Make a new heart in me, My God! Create it out of Your Pureness! (2 Cor. 5:17) Make my heart brand new so that it is totally pure and without anything bad. Dear God, make a new and faithful spirit inside of me. Give me Your Holy Spirit that I may be faithful to you in all things!! (John 3:1-21) Have my heart stick to you no matter what comes my way!!

Greetings in the Lord! This is Bob, one of TheNET Moderators. Welcome! We're glad you are here!

My heart goes out to your dad, it is so hard to pour your heart out to a group of people and then have them stab you in the back. The Devil's number one trick is to get us into hurt and bitterness.

I have included some links to help you navigate around the site. You may want to check out the Footprints group, the Links for Growth forum for great tips on how to grow in Christ, and Miracle Grow to help you get closer to God every day.

Once again, thanks for joining TheNET. I hope you make lots of good friends here and keep growing in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I look forward to getting to know you.

In the love of Jesus.
Bob

Hello Matt, Thank you for sharing with us your "story" with God. I can relate to "Currently I am trying to figure out what God has planned for me". That is exactly where I was a couple of years ago. Only then I hadn't given my life to God. For me God was someone much greater than me. Surely he did not want to know me. I was so wrong. God wants to know each and every one of us. We can create a relationship together with him and have the Best of all friends imagineable. Four years later and I still struggle from time to time with this "knowing God's plan". God spoke to me and said to "get to know him, I must read his word." I have been and God is revealing himself to me every moment. Last night as I struggled in my "flesh" with issues that seemed so confusing to me and sad God guided me to Psalm: 91.verse14;"Because he loves me", says the Lord, "I will rescue him". Please take a moment and read the whole psalm. I got away from my TV set. I wanted to be with him. I went to my room where it was quiet and God guided me to the answer. I gave thanks to God. I Love walking with him. He wants to be part of our everyday life. Let him in. Trust in him. He sits with me now as I write this note to you. We all stumble and fall but thank God he is there to catch us.
