I always went to church but I realized much later that there were a lot of teachings omitted, like purity and holiness. In college I began drinking and was promiscuous. After I told God I wouldn't drink anymore, I began to live my life for God, instead of just being "saved." Within a month I met my husband and we married a year later. We have been married for 14 years and I have been sober for 15. Unfortunately, I did not understand who God had called me to be as living pure until I had been married for quite some time. Even though I honored my marriage, I recognize that purity was not being taught in my home churches. It was the common practice that if you are "grown" you can have sex, or if you are in college. I have since understood that if you are 16 or 46 and not married, you should not have sex before marriage. My husband and I teach this to our children.
Other stuff about me:
My husband is active duty Army. We have lived in many places and learned so much about God from such a wide range of people. We have lived in Arizona, upstate NY, Virginia, Germany and Kentucky.
