I'm passionate about...: Bible Study and Prayer, Historical Facts in Biblical Christian (truth) context, helping the lost find Jesus, apologetics, eschatology...shooting sports. Second Amendment.

My story with God: It'll take a while to write this....born again 1993. Recommitted Nov. 2014. Born Again around 1983 in the Eastern Med while cruising off shore of Lebanon on board USS Nassau (LHA-4)...decommissioned. Spent two weeks in Israel for Liberty Call. Went adrift off and on for the next 10 years or so. Recommitted around 1993...I think. Went adrift again after about 5 years;just like the Israelites, stiff-necked. Life's challenges and too many idols. Anyway, I can only say for myself that all the whiles I've drifted off from walking with Jesus, I've always known I was wrong and on borrowed time. I've repented and prayed for forgiveness and then went right back to all the lies rationalizing any kind of road to salvation other than the truth in God's Word. So it took some hardship in June of 2014 to re-awaken me; though it was 5 months later this past November my wife and decided to switch from Methodist to Baptist and joined Central Baptist in Wendell, N.C. We have since were Baptized together. I'm focusing my time with my Church now; and we have a great ministry team and I'm finding brotherly love and friendship without conditions. So here is my prayer: Reference: Joshua 5: 13-15 I'm seeing that as The Lord Jesus was and is always with him (with a drawn sword in His hand too); and when Joshua asked Him if he was for or against him and then realized He was The Lord...WOW! If you pray for me pray that The Holy Spirit be on me like the cloud during the day and the fire at night. Self-will seems to be the idol that creeps into my daily life. Either that or just forgetting. I need to stop forgetting, and letting idols of self-will control me....which always leads to feeling detached or adrift and lost at sea, or in the wilderness; and nobody's there but me. Thanks.
