I enjoy spending time with my family * reading * church * work
I'm passionate about...
Telling the World of the delivering grace of God...at every opportunity..
My story with God
I have vague memories as a child gazing up into the blue sky wondering where God lived and although my parents weren't religious people at around five years old or so I can remember my mom telling me the story of Jesus. At age nine my family migrated from Central Tx. to Houston. Devasted by the move I was a young girl torn from her home..and friends.. I knew no one. My grade average started dropping because the new school was significantly ahead of the old one from which I came. My clothes were different so the kids made fun of me. We lived in rent houses, ate fried tater sandwiches a whole lot and Mac & cheese I began gaining weight and life was not good for one missplaced lil' west texas girl..
Soon I learned to retreat into an imaginary world where I was beautiful and thin and had long golden wavy hair that would drag the ground when I walked and a young handsome prince would come and rescue me and take me far away and I would never have to be sad again... We lived in a wonderfully large house with a huge yard with a tall fence. We had many children and we loved them everyone and we lived happily ever after...for ever and ever....
When I got old enough to ride the church bus alone Mom would let me walk 7 blocks to a street corner to catch a ride...ALONE...now when I look back on it, it seems rather odd that she would do that...Let me go alone that is... I was a very lonely and extremely sad little girl.
I won't go into any depth but I will say that my parents were shooting for a boy and being the forth disappointment I wasn't over pampered that's for sure...Both of them were from West Texas dirt poor family's....from " the depression era '' They both had that poor mans mentality..all their lives until the day they died...they were brought up poor and they stayed poor and they kept us poor.
Around twelve years old we moved into another rent house. I met a girl who accepted me flaws and all and we became friends..It was long till I started to rebel. First against my parents and then school and finally God...I dropped out of school at age 16, married at 17, divorced at 24.had an encounter with God at 20 but emotionally I was messed up pretty bad and though I tried I couldn't get my act together...Years passed and I continued looking for my prince...I hurt my own children more than you could know...In and out of church...saved one week and living like the devil the next.....living in sin and shame....I eventually turned to drugs and alcohol...years passed and the depth of my sin increased...many times I wanted to die but I didn't have the courage to take my own life... Talk about living with the pigs!
By now my children were grown and having babies of their own...making a life of their own...Finally it hit me like a giant brick...my children are grown... over half of my life has passed me by...I am going to die in my sin...never knowing what it is to have a genuine relationship with God, my own children or anyone else. I felt morally dead, naked, without God and abandoned, so in total dispair I cried out to God...I determined to break through or die...I told the Lord I would rather spend my lifetime serving Him, die and go straight to hell than to spend another day alone..
There is so much to be said and as spoken in His Wonderful word....... He chose me before the foundation of the world, that I should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having been predestined to the adoption as a son(daughter) by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made me accepted in the Beloved. In Him I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.......I'm that woman at the well....and the girl with the alabaster box sitting at His feet....I'm the prodigal son...I'm Martha and I'm Mary.....Once I was lost but now I'm found; I was blind but now I see.....
Other stuff about me:
I am now married to a good man and am blessed above measure....I have two loving grandsons a beautiful daughter and a wonderful son that I am praying for

hello joanna, here's a joke to welcome you here at AAG-
WHAT'S A CHURCH?
A well-worn one-dollar bill and a similarly distressed twenty-dollar bill arrived at a Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. As they moved along the conveyor belt to be burned, they struck up a conversation. The twenty-dollar bill reminisced about its travels all over the country.
"I've had a pretty good life," the twenty-dollar bill proclaimed. "Why I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City , the finest restaurants in New York , performances on Broadway, and even a cruise to the Caribbean "
"Wow!" said the one-dollar bill. "You've really had an exciting life!"
"So tell me," says the twenty-dollar bill, "where have you been throughout your lifetime?"
The one dollar bill replies, "Oh, I've been to the Methodist Church , the Baptist Church, the Lutheran Church."
The twenty-dollar bill interrupts, "What's a church?"
