When I was about ten years old, something incredible happened to me which I'd like to share with you all. My mother had been sick for days, weeks or so; chronic ulcer. I watched her daily as she grew thinner and thinner. She would lay in bed writhing and moaning in pain. There was little I could do to help her; to ease I pain. At some point I wished I could take the burden upon me; relieve her a bit.
One day, as twisted and turned, screaming in pain, I went down on my knees at the foot of the bed and cried unto the Lord. I was a child so all the prayer I knew how to pray was: Lord, if you make my mother feel better, I'll be a good girl. And...Five minutes; only five minutes passed after those words and my mother, who had been shivering from high fever for days, who had not sat up for days, began to sweat. She sat up and seeing me at the foot of the bed said: I'm hot, can I have some water and as I glanced up at her, I could see her blouse was wet with sweat. That day, my mother left her sick bed and never went back there again.
