- My story with God
- I was brought up going to Sunday school, but then because of my baby brother dying when I was 7 yrs old my father had me and my other brother christened catholics when i was 9. I grew up from then in the catholic faith but somthing held me back and told me somthing wasn't quite right with this religion. I had a very hard childhood and suffered alot of abuse at the hands of my adopted father and at the age of 22 i went to see a lady Minister in a Methodist church . She was talking to me and others about spiritual healing . She said that even within the womb you can feel if your a wanted child or not and that things happen to us that hurt us deeply and affect our spiritual welfare. As she spoke about different peoples experience i felt like i could relate to alot of what she was saying and tears began to fall down my face. She said ifanyone wanted to speak to her afterwards then please do so, she looked straight at me. I went over to her and told her a little about my liife up to that point and she asked if she could pray for me i sat down and she put her hands over my head and prayed and I wept and wept. After a while my sobbing subsided and she asked me where i was? I told her that i could see Jesus standing in front of me. She asked what He was doing? I told her He had His arms open .She said He wants you to go to Him can you go to Him? I said I could at at that moment I felt His arms wrap around me and all the hurt and pain Id felt up to then lifted away from me and I felt at that point that I belonged to Him, and that He would protect me and look after me from now on.

Just wanted you to know I posted an answer to the forum question you wrote about where you referenced the book of 1 Peter.
FISHERMAN
A guy is 72 years old and loves to fish.
He was sitting in his boat the other day when he heard a voice say,
'Pick me up.'
He looked around and couldn't see any one.
He thought he was dreaming when he heard the voice say again,
'Pick me up.'
He looked in the water and there, floating on the top, was a frog.
The man said, 'Are you talking to me?'
The frog said, 'Yes, I'm talking to you.
Pick me up then, kiss me and I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen.
I'll make sure that all your friends are envious and jealous because I will be your bride!'
The man looked at the frog for a short time,reached over, picked it up carefully, and placed it in his front pocket.
The frog said, 'What, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said?
I said kiss me and I will be your beautiful bride.'
He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said, 'Nah, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog.'
With age comes wisdom.
