When I studied in Florida I lived on a sailboat and at the marina were I was docked they gave kayak lessons and rented them; would shake my head since 2 miles down the road at the main Clearwater peer, they had several annual shark fishing tournaments, with many catches of sharks bigger than the kayaks...no thank you, I gave up snorkling scuba diving for the same reason: I like to be on the top of the food chain.

Puttered about with a kayak, ended upside down; I prefer my canoe.
