We are best friends in Jesus Christ, and we are prayer warriors standing together in Him and on His Word. He is the Rock of our Salvation, the One on Whom we stand firm in times of trouble to see us through, as well as the One Who has put a New Song in our hearts and turned our tears of sorrow to tears of joy! This Holy Thursday, as I reflect on Jesus pouring out His body and His blood for us, I cannot help but think of His tenderness, His mercy, His grace even to us for whom He was put to death: "There were also two others, criminals, led with [Jesus] to be put to death, And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." [Luke 23:32-34, NKJV] Thank God for His mercy that is fresh and new every morning, and for the gift of friends who are there to stand by us in our difficult days, arm around our shoulder, the name of our Saviour on their lips, ready to stand in the gap for us when we are weak and falling down in our faith walk ~ until the day when we are bolstered up, strengthened and once again singing with a new Song in our mouths, ready to return the Love that was showered on us in our time of need. And always we need our Jesus. And always we need those He gives us to stand firm with us as warriors in His holy name. Hallelujah! Amen!
