My story with God
I was born on a small island in the Caribbean and was raised catholic. I have a sister who is 3 years younger than I. When I was 11, my parents got divorced. Later my mother fell ill and spent a lot of time in and out of hospital. My sister and I were seperated and we went to live with relatives on different islands. When my mother got better some months later, we went to live with her again and she got remarried to a wonderful protestant man who looked after us as if we were his own. He was an alcoholic but he was a good man.
I can't say for sure when my problem started but I presume some time in this period I realized I was different to the other kids my age and I was attracted to people of the same sex and I grew up believing I was a "natura-born" homosexual. I could never admit this to my parents and have always kept it a secret.
Then we moved to South Africa 3 years after my parent got divorced. I went to school, learned a new language and met new people who lived life totally different than I was used and it was also the first time I ever saw and read a Bible. I know now that God was calling me or at least putting me in a situation were it was possible to get to know him but I did not listen and so life went on. I finished school and went on to work in the hospitality business and 30 years flew by. These 30 years were spent partying and drinking, using drugs like extacy and marijuana. I was never promiscuous but still had the odd empty meaningless encounter. I even had a 5 year long relationship that still left me empty even in the happiest times.
I have always been interested in "conspiracy theories" and last year saw a DVD collection called "Total Onslaught" by prof W.Veith and ordered that. I watched that thinking to get some juicy new conspricay theories but instead got a couple of shocks. Good ones I must say! I came to see the clear picture of things that are happening in the world and how we are duped purposefully into following and believing things contrary to God's word and if there is a faction working against the God of the Bible then he must exist and be Greater than I ever thought he was. I have now completely surrendered my whole being to Jesus because without him I'm nothing. Jesus, I love You and thank You for saving me from my life.

    HE Act On God's Word

    JAMES 1:22 NKJ
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
    yourselves.

How easily we fall into the trap of listening to, or even
studying, the Bible -- but not acting on its instructions.
According to this verse, that opens us up to deception. We
think we are spiritual. We think we are safe. But then, when
things don't work out we will blame God and question why He let
    us down.

    LUKE 6:46-49 NKJ
46 "But why do you call Me `Lord, Lord,' and do not do the
    things which I say?
47 "Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I
will show you whom he is like:
48 "He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid
the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the
stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake
it, for it was founded on the rock.
49 "But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a
house on the earth without a foundation, against which the
stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin
    of that house was great."

Trouble is coming -- it's part of this life. If you act on the
Word, trouble will not destoy you and your household. If you
neglect acting on the Word -- no matter how much you hear it --
when trouble comes your way, it may be devastating.

    Why?

Not because it's God's will, or God doesn't love you. Simply
because you refused to act on the instructions which God -- who
knows more than you do -- gave you for your protection.

    DEUTERONOMY 12:28 NKJ
28 "Observe and obey all these words which I command you, that
it may go well with you and your children after you forever,
when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord
    your God.

God gave us His Word because He loves us and desires to help
us. Not because He likes to boss people around and give orders.
Acting on God's Word is for our benefit.

SAY THIS: I will act on what God's says to me in His WordLLOOOOOOOOOOO
