My story with God
I was raised to believe whatever I chose to believe. My family is very agnostic/spiritual. Growing up my mother had tried sending my sister and I to a Sunday school my then neighbor-across-the-way went to and it was miserable. Long story short, my sister and I got teased, pushed around, etc. From then on I didn't want to believe in anything related to that. Friends tried to get me to go to church/youth group and I just felt left out. It was my Freshmen year in high school when my first boyfriend told me how he loved me so much that he wanted me to go (he knew about my previous experience with the sunday school, church, youth group, etc..) to his church/youth group just to try it out because he didn't want me to perish in Eternal Hell. I decided to go, seeing how passionate he was about it. I slowly started having a change of heart. More and more I realized this is what I wanted to believe in the whole time. He kept asking me how I felt afterwards and I would always reply with, "good." Finally one night, I looked him in the eyes and said, "I'm ready. I want this for my life and I want to accept Jesus Christ as my savior. " Then the rest was history, on a glorious October night thats what I did: accepted Jesus! From then on I have had struggles everyone goes through. I've been such a "baby Christian". The past 6 months approximately I've been on the road to spiritual growth. I don't want to be a "part-time Christian" or a "Christian when I'm at church" etc. I want to be an everyday Christ-loving Christian. I want to fully give my life the the Almighty Lord above!!
