My story with God
Born into a very fractured, dysfunctional family. Both mother and father committed suicide. Family split up, I was sent to Foster family, siblings went with family or friends. Received Jesus at 7 years old at Burton Baptist church. There, my Sunday School teacher, Jean Day, was given the order by God to pray for me every time she opened her wallet and saw my picture. She did not know the abuse I was suffering at the hands of my foster mom. I ran into her in my 30's in another church and she saw me, told me God had a plan for my life. She found out then that I believed, and so she handed my picture back and said that now she was released from praying for me. Wow. He DID have His hand upon me through all those difficult childhood years. He healed my then twelve year old son from a closed head injury, and the neurosurgeons refused to sign a statement to that effect, even though they DID state it was a miracle! I have sinned, lost a husband through suicide, divorced another. My first husband divorced me after 17 years. God has been faithful, even when I was NOT,, and I continue my walk with Him, much much more obediently now!! He is Good!
Other stuff about me:
I have volunteered as a medical assistant for Oasis of Hope, a free medical clinic on the West side of G.R. I have been unemployed over one year, have had guardianship of my five year old granddaughter, and mainly just trusted the Lord for my very sustenance! I am on a new journey now, having lost my car and home of 21 years, with no job prospects in sight. I am not worried, HE has control of my life. I have many committed church family brothers and sisters, and KNOW that He is "a very present help in time of need." My physical circumstances are unimportant in light of HIS divine plan for me. Praise God!
