I'm here to...
connect with other missionaries passionate about Jesus
Interests:
hobbies? I am an artist - I use just about any medium. I also enjoy reading. But I work 70 hours a week so I don't get to do much of that. I also like to get online.
I do colored pencil drawings as an expression of worship during our services, and have recently begun bringing that with me to Peru. Below you'll see some of my personal favorites. I sell them to support missions - either the ones my church supports or my personal ones to Peru.
I'm passionate about...
JESUS! And wherever the Lord sends me - whether I serve at school,in the homes of the infirm, or as a missionary in Peru (my home away from home!) I want to be a vessel of His love.
My story with God
Many seeds were planted prior to my salvation, but on March 13, 1971 the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin and separation from the living God, and I wanted to be reconciled through Christ. I have been falling deeply in love with Him ever since.
Other stuff about me:
I'm preparing for my 7th mission trip to Peru - my ministry is visitation in the House of God, and speaking His message of love, hope, and encouragement, to build up the Body of Christ.Father is always extending my borders! I am always ready to talk about the Lord, what He has done in me, through me, for me...I guess I'm just a "Jesus Freak!"
While I believe we are all missionaries wherever we go, my PREFERRED mission field is Peru. After the drawings you'll see some of my favorite pix from trips in 06 and 07.

I have a plethora of spiritual sons and daughters in Peru. Jose Choquehuanca was my first. The first time I went to Peru, I stayed at the mssion where my former church's missionary had been, and was giving the missionary pastor's wife a break from the Sunday afternoon English classes she taught. Jose was one of the students. After I returned to the states, he wrote to me, and told me how his mother had passed away when he was 5, and he was brought up under witchcraft, and it took some time after his salvation before he was able to walk in freedom. But anyway, learning of his motherlessness, I invited him to consider me his mom, and he has been a devoted son since. When I went for my second visit in 03 , pastor Hugo often assigned him to escort me when Hugo had to do other things - an assignnment which Jose was more than happy to do. It was so ironic that when I returned home, smelling kind of ripe from the trip, my natural born son covered his nose and declined a hug until after I had showered!
Foreman Varela, himself a missionary through Youth With A Mission , and a youth leader in his church in Iquitos, Peru, is my #1 spiritual son. He is the eldest, and also we joke that he is the most expensive, because I have invested in his work. I have also paid for his passage (and visa interviews) to come to the states, 3 times. He stays with me when he is here - and so we have grown much closer. When I am in his city I stay at his house. His mother Marleni is actually the first native who wrote a reply to my letters to the church there, and it is through my friendship with her that I took him into my heart.
Abel Amane is another very dear and special son. Like Jose, his mother passed away when he was just a wee child. I met him breifly in 04, and we got to know each other better when we connected online on the messenger, and built our relationship up. So when I returned in 06, he was waiting for me at the airport - at 4:30 in the morning!-and as I ministered to him as a mom, he began to blossom more in the Lord. When I returned for 2 weeks in Feb last year, I stayed at his house during the week I was in Lima; and last summer i had him accompany me during the 4 weeks I was in Iquitos and the "selva" (rainforest), and together we stayed at Foreman's house (Foreman is a big joker. He told Abel, "the tradition is, if it's your first time visiting, you fast for the first 3 days")When in Lima, I stayed with him. He will accompany me during the entire 2 months I am there this summer.

Please do keep on praying for the request of mine down below, and I know I can count on you to do it:

Please "WIN the 10/40 WINDOWS" for JESUS CHRIST.
The 10/40 Windows (located between 10 - 40 degrees North of Equator - between West Africa to East Asia) need Missionaries, have no church at all, and there live about 40 percent of the world population. INDONESIA, my country is in the 10-40 windows though we have churches. Please also pray for ISRAEL and all over the world. Let's get on our knees, praying hand in hand with me for their revival. I look forward to the day when the Lord who I kneel to worship will be recognized by all the living and the dead as the One True Lord.

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2

A message was given recently in which Jesus said, the mansion I went to prepare for you is now finished. All is ready for Me to bring My people home.

With much love in Christ: Christy Gabriel B
