Life and truth
My story with God
8th grade was the worst. In my 1st homeroom, a girl I knew since we were both little tried to take my picture-big mistake. A boy taunted me saying "I don't want my picture taken because it will steal my soul!" I hid behind the school book on indians. I heard someone ask "Is she still hiding behind that book?" In math class ( different day) a girl teased me saying my name. I sighed heavily-she laughed so hard she almost fell out of her seat! I thought the kid behind me was making duck noises. The girl in front was mean. I was trapped. A girl, a boy and me had to be called out of class-another episode of the class embarrasment! The girl who teased me, Mrs.__ wanted her to be my partner in a math game it didn't work too well.

It was a cold day in Nov. of 06.; in my 2nd homeroom (had to because my friend who was needed someone she knew in her homeroom). Please pray she gets saved by Jesus. It was the group I was in turn for computers. I didn't like the blasphamous cartoon of Jesus (despite not yet being saved by Him) on the screen saver. I changed it. A boy came over and said "You're so dead, I'm going to stab you with this pencil, just wait until I get you out on the street alone!" Please pray Jesus saves him. I went into a very deep depression after that. To top that when certain songs came on it turned my sucidal thoughts even worse! It wasn't only feelings of wanting to die, but feelings of intrapment and dread. I wanted to hear it so I could get more depressed. I was very messed up in thinking. Thinking that wouldn't be appropriate to even put on this forum!

Around the same time I was on SOVA, an online group to try and get the old Pokemon voice actors back. I talked to people about my problem of bullying. I talked to especially this one girl. Anyway, I wanted SOVA to win more than anything. So, I looked up ways. I found a couple-spells and prayer. Yes, sadly, I tried a cheap spell. She, a girl on SOVA, talked to me about God. I didn't care much about religion but I went along with it. I didn't believe Jesus was God so I said "God and Jesus". I thought it was a horrible belief. I still talked to my false Jesus though. I found a prayer online of salvation. I trusted it and not Jesus.

I was too scared of killing myself. I didn't want to be punished and go to hell (I didn't really even think about going to hell because I didn't have Jesus-that kind of thinking was before Jesus really even came to my mind, I just thought I would go for killing myself). So, I figured I'd call on the evil lady in the mirror, Bloody Mary. I figured if she killed me than I wouldn't be accountable (I didn't realize without Jesus I truly wouldn't get to heaven). I was mixed up. I trusted Jesus but I don't think my brain could comprehend salvation yet, heaven and hell. One time I remember though looking at a pill bottle on the table. Thoughts of swallowing those pills entered into my mind. A problem I had was I didn't want to tell anyone I knew face to face. I kept how I felt locked up in my heart for the most part (may have mentioned something a tiny bit). Good thing though, I went to a counsler and the bullying decreased dramatically. In 11th grade I ate some salad as a side food at school. I found out something was wrong with the lettuce later that day. I cried out to God. "Please don't let me die!" atleast a few times. I realized I needed salvation soon. I don't know if it was that day but I heard the song on my Christian bluegrass CD "Only Trust Him". I went into a room. I heard someone tell me to wait to get saved. I heard Someone else, who had to have been ether Jesus or the Holy Spirit (it may have been the Father, I don't know) tell me not to harden my heart to the Holy Ghost. If I did I'd ether harden my heart to the point of ether never recieving salvation or it'd be very difficult to get to that point again. Jesus saved my soul from hell after that. May 29th,Sat., 2010

I can always use prayer. The paper I'm writing is kind of intense. Prayer that I finish it is great.  :-)

That's great to hear about your eyes getting better. Something like that happened to a friend of mine. She was late for Bible class. Forgot to set the alarm or something. She gets to class and realizes she forgot her glasses. Her eyes were pretty bad and she couldn't read anything without her glasses. She said when she looked at the board, the writing on the board kind of zoomed in and she could read all of it.  The words in her Bible came into focus. I love it when I think about it. She realized she had just been healed.   :-)

    Love and God bless,

    Mary

    Breeze,

Jesus came to meet us where we are in the reality of our lives as they really are. He came with a strong, clear message: God loves us and can't bear to see us separated from God and from one another. So Jesus came that we might be reunited with God. To do that, he had to go the cross. It wasn’t glamorous or spectacular. It was in the real life and death of Jesus that God revealed the most important message ever delivered to the human family. And it was in the resurrection that the message was ratified for all eternity.

Faithfully yours, in our Lord Jesus Christ,

    Colby

How are you progressing with reading the material you ordered and received in the mail, including Dr. Walter Martin's Kingdom of the Cults?

    John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning the Word already existed.

    The Word was with God,

    and the Word was God.

2 He existed in the beginning with God.

3 God created everything through him,

and nothing was created except through him.

4 The Word gave life to everything that was created

and his life brought light to everyone.

5 The light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Feet, Thank you for asking bout my daughter. I hope she is saved. Only God knows that for sure. I just know she said that her and her husband decided to go to church be saved and hopefully do better. I am ashamed that I didnt raise my children in church. I did take them a short time plus I let them go with their friends. I wouldnt now hiw to tell anyone about the gospel. Thats how backwards I am. Thank you for prayer Feet.

Hugs back to you Feet. I listened to your tract video. I can tell you put in a lot of work making it. I liked the animal pictures in it too. I can remember when I was quite young I read a tract. It was telling of God and satan... heaven and hell. It came to my memory several times throughout the years. I hope Gid gives me the desire to help people someday as you have and do. It was nice hearing a voice from someone here on AAG too. I wish more would do it. I have heard LTs  voice and now yours. I also have heard Carlas. Cool =D

  • Colby

Something as simple as Gospel Tracts, as you have shown, can have a great and lasting impact on the lives of others.  Thank you for sharing.

Very interesting and intense "My story with God"! Enjoyed the pictures of your cats (I'm a dog person but one cat, Tiger, decided I make a decent slave and moved in during a snow storm). We have a nature group "The Beauty of Nature Created by God" that's open to all to join - lots of photos o plants, critters and such. Mostly my shots but a few have added theirs. Feel frre to join, add photos, or just escape into the beauty God has provides us!

  • Ricprimus

Wonderful Feet Trees! Feel free to post all the photos you want as a comment or in the separate discussions! The 2 pics look exactly like the past few weeks of weather here in southern Ohio; dark and gloomy with an occasional bright spot peeking through the thunderstorm!

Here's part of an old calligraphy project of mine, as I said writing a blog on its making, here's a bit: http://www.allaboutgod.net/profiles/blogs/temporary-note-on-calligr...

    Thanks for the welcome.

sniff, you don't like my garden gnomes? Taken me almost a year to get them made and set up just right.

  • Ricprimus

someday I ought to try making a large nativity scene, have done it on small scale to cast in pewter, just never tried lifesized.

  • Ricprimus

well, the gnomes are just because I have a very odd sense of humor. As to a nativity set, well, that would take rest of the year to do decently.. First I'd have to decide whether to either do a traditional set which combines both the actual scene in the "stables" with the separate visit of the wise men or just the actual birth itself. Second decision would be what style to do the figure in: say Italian renaissance, French medieval, Russian orthodox, and so on, or would I want to portray Mary, Joseph and Jesus as the ethnic Palestine Jews that they were (you must understand when you see pictures of Jews in modern Israel, they are overwhelmingly of European, not middle east decent-same is true of the state of modern Israel, it's based on the European model of a state, not middle east). Mary would particularily take a lot of thought, traditionally she is portrayed in the 16-18 year old range, when in 1st century the tradition in middle east for the common people was girls to be promised in marriage at 12 (or onset of menses) and married soon after. I ruffle enough feathers as it is with my art as it is without portraying Mary as a 13/14 year old, lol. For lifesize, I'd probably carve the figures from tree trunks then paint/stain to make them permanent instead of plaster over a wire frame since the whole process would take a very lot of time, probably not enough time working from dawn to dusk the rest of the year. Well, will think on it, maybe can lay the basis for it in 2014 if I decide not to do my homeless mission yet since I'd need a workshop in a stationary residence.

  • Ricprimus

For a small set like a pewter metal, plaster, hydrocal or resin nativity set, many of the same issues are the same as to style and such, however for metal casting of figures like 3 inches tall, they are carved in wax, then master mold is made; for plaster, etc. for 6 inches tall, they would be carved/sculpted in clay then a master mold is made. Lot faster process. Of course, if you start talking about sculpting in actual stone like Michelangelo, your talking a year+ each figure. Never messed with stone and don't have the time to learn.

First, read this article about modern age of consent around the world, especially enlarge the map showing ages and pay attention to 15 and under categories.
A large part of it quite naturally has to deal with life expectancy: in Ancient Rome even with abundant clean water and free public bread it was 26. For the middle east which was a harsher environment it was several years lower. (Based on both contemporary written records and mass examination of grave remains by archeologists and anthropologists).
Think about it: no medicine; no refridgeration for food (pork being a forbidden food had a very practical reason along with religious); a very simple understanding of human anatomy (no microscopes until the 17th century so no concept of bacteria, viruses or the unseen micro world); even the concept of vitamins and calories was way in the future. People died of toothaches, relatively simple sicknesses and conditions (tonsilitis, appendix), childbirth was quite deadly).

The still practised Jewish ceremony of Bar Mitzvah (boys) Bat Mitzvah (girls) is a Jewish-Babylonian-Aramaic word).
According to Jewish law, when Jewish boys become 13, they become accountable for their actions and become a Bar Mitzvah. Traditionally, a Bat Mitzvah occurs when Jewish girls become 12, and it means the same as it does for boys. In addition to being considered accountable for their actions from a religious perspective, B'nai mitzvah may be counted towards a minyan (prayer quorum) and may lead prayer and other religious services in the family and the community. The age of B'nai Mitzvah was selected because it roughly coincides with physical puberty. Prior to a child reaching Bar or Bat Mitzvah, the child's parents hold the responsibility for the child's actions. After this age, children bear their own responsibility for Jewish ritual law, tradition and ethic and are able to participate in all areas of Jewish community life.
As soon as they were born childen were started being  prepared for being married: how to keep house, cook, take care of babies and children as opposed to modern extended education which drags on (far past when it should in my opinion except in rare cases) so we end up with people in late 20's who haven't a clue how to live on their own. Lol, don't get me started on modern education.

As to "homeless mission", my blog: has a bit about the mission I plan on starting next spring to sell my woods and homestead, give away my books to library, fossils and other collections to museum and start doing full time mission of feeding, helping the poor, giving out Bibles and other Christian literature along with food, tent, sleepings bags, simple cooking stuff and other necessary stuff (soap, shampoo, etc.) along the Mississippi and Ohio River and their tributaries. Been planning it since this time last year, slowly putting together the stuff I need and researching like mad for maps and such.

oops didn't put in age of consent link:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_consent

  • Ricprimus

I don't have it at hand but will send you the link to my FaceBook page which is nothing but working out the plans and equipment I need. About $6,000 into it already for new canoe and camping upgrades and stuff. Not enough faith to just "sell everything and give it to the poor" thing, since I have to have my laptop for writing and records, books (ebooks), music, movies, minimum art stuff. Had to research solar power chargers and battery chargers since like my comforts. Lol, almost 2 months of just getting detailed maps downloaded. Working on contacts with various homeless missions, shelters along the way but must of my work are going to be those living out I the woods along the river.

Hey Feet!  I'm back. Thanks for posting to my profile in my absence. I've been extremely busy the past few months, finding myself with no time for AAG though missing it very much.

  • ribbon

Feet, I got a notification from the womens only group saying you posted somethimg. When I clicked to read it .. it said I had to join the group. I tried finding Mischelles page to ask her why I was no longer a member there. But couldn't find her. Did she leave the site that you know of?   I hope you are ok........ I have been thinking about you. I read just about everything you write. Its just sometimes I am afraid if I reply I will say something stupid and I certainly don't want to hurt you.

I keep forgetting to tell you. The other day I was cleaning out one of my drawers and I found a tract. I thought of you as soon as I seen it. I am unsure of where it came from. Im thinking that here while back when my brother was taking me to the store he stopped by a lot. They were having some kind of fund raising sale... kind of like a yard sale. I remember my brother saying they were a church. The name of the tract is "The Contract!' from Chick publications. On the back of it is stamped the name and number of a church. I checked online and this church isn't in my town. :(. The site mentions that it is a bilingual church.... which is cool too.  Anyway.... see.... yall have the same idea.... passing out tracts and spreading the word anyway they can.
