it's been a fairly good day (so far) had class this morning (attending ITT-Tech)
In problem solving, (practical math in the field I want to go into)it’s not as bad as i thought it might be...at least the instructor is willing to stay after class and answer questions and there are tutors there as well...a big plus for someone like me. I hope to write some things this evening (mostly short form poetry...haiku and six-word stories (or less)...it’s one of the ways I unwind and deal with the events of the day (and other events in my life (long story there...a very long story) With haiku I can distill a thought or something I’ve seen into the essential elements but leave the interpretation open to whoever reads it. The six-word story aspect is something new I’ve just started after seeing examples of it... I like saying a lot with a little (not that this post is all that short) I also like photography (film and digital) and have been doing that for a long time...(it’s actually what I’d like to do for a living) it would be difficult to say which I like more, photography or writing, so I try to combine them as frequently as I can. I’ll post a few pictures later when I find the ones I think would be the most interesting to people on this site...there are several pictures of lightning that I’ve taken that are really good and that are posted at another art site...I tend to carry about three cameras with me most of the time (when I have batteries for them) Right now, I am looking for work...I’ve not had a job for over two years and that makes life a bit complicated...Well, guess this post is long enough so I’ll end it here... there will be more to say later but I don’t want to bore you with too many details.
with my dad at the collage (which is just down the road from the church) in
preparation for another meeting later this year. I would like to do some freelance
work but like anything, it takes money to get the equipment i would need to do
the things that would be profitable (mostly on site, portraits) I would need a few
backdrops, a stand to hold it up, a light set up (usually meaning three, or more),
light stands (or c stands), a light bank (for soft light) a tripod (for the camera),
a good camera and several compatible lenses, a portrait stool, digital media chips,
a good computer/ software and a few other things. Not having a job makes this very difficult to acquire so it is frustrating to have talent and not have the means to express it.
i do critter sit for my friends across the street several times a year but i cannot depend on this as a steady means of income...I had one job last year that lasted one day working the election polls and got $125.00 for the days work...all of it was sent to my ex-wife in florida since i am so far behind on child support anything is better than nothing (but not much better...in her opinion) I've tried looking into some of the studios in the area for work but they tell me they are fully staffed and do not need any more help.
Freelancing work is very difficult in this area (as it is in most places) since anyone with a camera feels that they can take something that is "good enough" for their needs at the moment... sometimes this is the case, other times, not so much. I've looked into selling some of my pictures on-line but the prices are way too low for me to consider since i might have to sign over publication rights for something that might be much more than i was offered....i'm not greedy, but i would prefer to get credit for what i've done and royalties (if any) would really help pay my bills...and other obligations.
your words are very encouraging to me right now...although it is really difficult not to be cynical since all the places i put in a resume' never call back (i put in about eight today...but did not have enough gas to go out much further than i did) I have too much class work to do in the morning to look for work (and not enough gas) so my day will be spent at home doing that. Class is on wednesday and friday so i have to be careful as to where i go and how far i drive ...since i want to get to class and back home in the same day...i've run out before and that was not a lot of fun....but prayers were answered and i got help very quickly.
your comments are always so kind, it is clear you have a good heart and love Jesus and others who are hurting... as to where i live, i live in east tennessee, so i'm about an hour from the smokies and would be there right now if i could arrange it...just to be someplace quiet and think about things. I have helped friends by taking them to appointments and the store...they usually will buy me a nice lunch and and some gas for the effort...which is appreciated. I would get out this morning to look for work but i have a lot of class work to finish and i need the gas to get to class on wednesday (and back home)...I can apply on-line but that usually takes about 30 minutes at a time and the pre-screening filters the programs have mean that the chances of my name even being seen or considered fot a job is very low...by handing someone a resume' in person i can at least make eye contact and indicate that i am serious about looking for work. Hopfully something will open up soon....
thanks for the Bible verse yesterday evening...it helped me... still need to let God have more areas of my life...but being human that's the hard part...i want to deal with things on my own (dispite the fact i've made a big mess of things as they are...and there is little evidence that things will improve on my watch...time for a new management)
i've been Preoccupied the last few days and have not checked this page or my mail for comments...I was able to talk to my pastor yesterday I had given him two very old books (one being a Greek lexicon) from 1886 that belonged to a friend of mine who had been in a plane crash a few months ago...i knew the it would get more and better use at the collage than with me (at the moment) and it gave me the opportunity to talk about the things going on right now in my life. I have a great pastor, I’ve known him since the came here and he means a lot to my family..we talked for about 20 minutes ( i honestly don’t know...we talked about a lot of things) it was a good talk...a lot was said....he asked if i thought i would ever remarry...i said i’d like to eventually but for now i was not emotionally ready to do that (too much baggage that’s hard to get rid of) and i was not really looking right now since i had nothing to offer anyone not having a job (dates usually require a bit more than just sitting around watching a movie in silence to qualify as an actual date...for me I’d rather be out walking the trails in the mountains and taking pictures, or going to an art museum or an state aquarium somewhere...that’s the sort of thing i prefer...) After we talked we prayed and i went to my parents house for a while then came back home... talk to you later
Thank you so much dennis i didnt even know that you send me this message, til now i knew about the gift. you r a good friend to me & we just met.God does put people in our lives for his purposes you r a blessing & you r truly a blessing!love & huggies
hello mom.. how are you? i miss you mom..i have lots of things to tell you mom, it was really amazing when we let God be with us... hope to talk to you soon mom... God bless you always mom. :) phil
Words fall like drops of rain My lips are like clouds I say so many things Trying to figure you out But as mercy opens my eyes My words are stolen away With this breathtaking view of your grace

Hello Kaya,
thanks for the kind words of encouragement...they really help me.
As far as what I believe, I did not mean to come across as vague
or indecisive (or deceptive). I do believe in Christ as my savior
and that he is the only way of salvation and that there is nothing i
can do outside accepting his gift of salvation to gain his favor...nothing
added nothing subtracted. I do belong to a great church found at:
www.faithforthefamily.com and will be going to a mens meeting this evening
with my dad at the collage (which is just down the road from the church) in
preparation for another meeting later this year. I would like to do some freelance
work but like anything, it takes money to get the equipment i would need to do
