My story with God
I've gave my life to the Lord over 30 years ago. There have been times when I tried to get back on the throne so it isn't always a smooth and straight ahead journey. My life changed fairly drastically (again) about 18 months ago:

In September of 2006 I awoke one morning at two o'clock. Partially asleep, I had the feeling that I had experienced a dream or else heard a small still voice tell me to write a book about evolution, a topic I knew almost nothing about. In the morning when I awoke fully, the experience was still vivid in my memory banks. I asked the Lord if he had indeed asked me to write a book about Evolution. That small still voice said - "And when you're done with that, I want you to go after Harry Potter and the sexual revolution." Sounded like a yes to me.
My personal dreams of becoming a writer had been abandoned years ago. Despite my fear of failure and my ignorance concerning the subject matter (I know you are supposed to write about what you know best), I decided to pursue the matter. If God had really spoken to me, I was not going to drag my feet and not even check it out. After researching one book dealing with evolution, I knew that I had been called to battle. Despite holding down a full time job, I threw myself into the effort and did more research as I begin to weave a foundation around a love story. Most of the first section of the book is typical of a young adult romance novel. Then I threw enough facts into the story to present most of the basic and pertinent information dealing with the flaws of Darwinism and the controversy surrounding it. I tried to balance the science lesson with a equal doses of humor, romance, and scripture.
Other stuff about me:
I have written seven novels so far and have formed my own company - Sword of the Spirit Publishing to produce them for public consumption. I try not to write fluffy little stories with entertainment value but rather edifying works that entertain, educate, and encourage.

    I’VE LEARNED…
I'VE LEARNED...that when you're in love it shows.
I've learned...that just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.
I've learned...that having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful
    feelings in the world.
I've learned...that being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned...that you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I've learned...that I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help
    him in some other way.
I've learned...that no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a
    friend to act goofy with.
I've learned...that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to
    understand.
I've learned...that simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights
when I a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned...that life is like a roll of toilet paper. the closer it gets to the end, the faster
    it goes.
I've learned...that we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
    I've learned...that money doesn't buy class.
I've learned...that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned...that under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated
    and loved.
I've learned...that the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?
I've learned...that to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned...that when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that
    person continue to hurt you.
I've learned...that love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned...that the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with
    people smarter than I am.
I've learned...that everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned...that there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling
    their breath on your cheeks.
I've learned...that no one is perfect until you fall in love with him.
I've learned...that life is tough, but I am tougher.
I've learned...that opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned...that when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned...that I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed
    away.
I've learned...that one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he
    may have to eat them.
I've learned...that a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
    I've learned...that I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.
I've learned...that when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little
fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned...that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness
and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned...that it is best to give advice in only two circumstances: when it is
requested and when it is a life-threatening situation.
I've learned...that the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

    Meaningful Life
If you’ve never asked the question
Who or when or why or how
Give your mind that great suggestion
Go ahead and do it now

You will find when you consider
    All the options that abound
There is still but one conclusion
Where peace of mind is found

    It’s not in education
    In religion or in books
    In retirement funds and IRAs
    Or how the market looks

It’s not in status or in style
How low in golf you score
It’s not the running of a mile
    Or who you’re working for

It’s not the price you pay for things
It’s not the jewels and fancy rings
It’s not the checks and credit cards
Secured by all those guns and guards

It’s not the beauty of your face
It’s not a matter of your face
It’s not the muscle on your bones
Your classy looks or great skin tones

What matters most in life today
Is where you stand along the way
Not what you have but what you are
How faith in God succeeds by far

God is the answer to the question
Of the who, when, why or how
    And He gives the invitation:
‘TRUST IN ME AND DO IT NOW’’

You’ll find God meets your deepest need
With His kind words your soul He’ll feed
He guide your steps and makes things right
    He’ll turn darkness into light…..

    I asked God…

I asked God to take away my pain
    God said, No
-it is not for me to take away,
But for you to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole
    God said, No
-Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience
    God said, No
-patience is a by-product of tribulations,
It isn’t granted, it is earned.
I asked God to give me happiness
    God said, No
-I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.
I asked God to make my spirit grow
    God said, No
-you must grow on your own
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life
    God said, No
-I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things
I asked God to helped me LOVE others,
as much as He loves me
    God said…..
Ahhh, finally you have the idea.

    God loves You!

FROM THE FULLNESS OF HIS GRACE WE HAVE ALL
    RECEIVED ONE BLESSING AFTER ANOTHER.
    ( JOHN 1:16 *NIV )

Always remember to count our blessings each day, and to
thank God for them! For no matter what we have, when we
look around us, we find others who have less! So never feel
sorry for ourself, instead start counting our blessings, for that
    should cheer u up indeed.

Now we know that when things disappoint us, we are sad and
often depressed. However it is written that we should: BE
JOYFUL ALWAYS; PRAY CONTINUALLY; GIVE THANKS IN
ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, FOR THIS IS GOD'S WILL FOR YOU
    IN JESUS CHRIST. ( 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18 )

Therefore, never feel that God doesn't hear our prayers
because a prayer isn't answered the way we want, or something
goes wrong in our life. For our Heavenly Father always knows
what is best for us, and: HE WILL NOT LEAVE YOU NOR
    FORSAKE YOU. ( DEUTERONOMY 31:6 )

So my friend, remember to always: GIVE THANKS TO THE
LORD, CALL ON HIS NAME; MAKE KNOWN AMONG THE
NATIONS WHAT HE HAS DONE for you!
    ( 1 CHRONICLES 16:8 )

In closing, MAY THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST, AND THE LOVE OF GOD, AND THE
FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BE WITH YOU ALL,
    now and always! Amen! ( 2 CORINTHIANS 13:14 )

THIS IS ALL I'll say for now. GOD BLESS YOU! KEEP WRITING AND SMILING AS WELL AS SHINE BRIGHTLY HOW you do.

THANK YOU DON! I HAVE BEEN WATCHING TELEVISION OFF AND ON SINCE YESTERDAY AS I'm CERTAIN MILLIONS OF PEOPLE HAVE ALL OVER THE WORLD! I PRAY THAT SOMEONE WILL WITNESS TO OPRAH AS I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED HER SO MUCH! I KNOW THAT SHE ONCE CONFESSED A FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST BUT HAVE SEEN VIDEOS ON UTUBE AS WELL AS ON ALL ABOUT GOD AND IT BREAKS MY HEART. I TRULY FEEL THAT SHE HAD MADE JESUS HER SAVIOUR BUT NEVER MADE HIM THE LORD OF HER LIFE. (BEEN THERE DONE THAT! ) HOWEVER, I CAN'T HELP BUT LOOK AT SERVANTS OF THE LORD< THAT MORE THEN LIKELY HAVE SPOKEN TO HER BUT PERHAPS THEIR WORDS WERE TOO MUCH OR NOT IN SEASON> I REALLY DON'T KNOW. I WILL NEVER STOP PRAYING FOR HER THOUGH> AFTER ALL; WHAT DOES IT PROFIT A MAN ( or women) IF THE WHOLE WORLD IS GAINED BUT IN THE END < LOSES THE SOUL? I'd rather be poor and rich in SPIRIT, then rich and without JESUS AS THE LORD OF ALL IN MY LIFE.
GOD BLESS YOY MY BROTHER LINDA

Thanks for coming to my site Donald Parker and your books seems to be very interesting! I'm sure I have seen them somewhere. I am very much a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as my God and savior and knowing that he died upon the cross for our sins. Also, I know it takes alot of faith and being strong will by putting it all in his hands. Its nice to be able to reach out to other christians as well. Love in Christ

Hi Don, I just wanted to send you a message to let you know that I love the Christian sites I am on; although I noticed it has slowed down my computer a little. I think using emoticons on my regular email has especially slowed it down but they are so much fun to use. Things must be as interesting in Washington as they are in Canada right now, aye? At least everyone is celebrating over the new president of the United States. We need a lot of prayer for Canada at this time. Our political members are fighting etc. Not good!< To change that subject:I have everything up as far a decor goes for Christmas and am baking never ending cut out cookies with my wee grandson. Don, I look at my Christmas tree , every year and as beautiful as it is, I can't help but laugh. A tree, all decorated , sitting in my living room! Hum? So gorgeous but so pagen as well. As a child I was introduced to a lot of traditions to do with Christmas that are so much fun but also so ridiculous . I thank the Lord that He searches the heart , knowing how much I love Him and that He and only He> is the true reason for the season. God bless you Don and your loved ones. Oh yeah, >We will be getting a lot of snow tomorrow in the Niagara region by the way. I love the winter so much. I know you get snow your way as well . Do you like the Winter Don? < Just curious as most people hate it. " Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" I sing.

Happy new year Don. I hope that you and your family had a wonderful holiday season in the Lord. Don, I have tried numerous times to change my profile how you suggested I should do so - months ago, but when changed and clicking on it has gone back to the original one with all those ( cringe!) capital letters again! Aaaaaaa! I did contact Greg but I think he misunderstood what I ment. Therefore, perhaps you could send me an email as far as what I might be doing wrong, for all the work it has taken me to change my profile, for it to still look as if I'm yelling at people, instead of how it should be. I tried and tried but ... it's a mystery to me why it just kept going back to the mainly all caps. -even with having clicked save all three time when redone.
  • kathleen aldea

  • LINDA KOSTIN

Hey there Don; you will be glad to know that I finally got my profile story changed today! Finally! The problem was that it would not change my birthdate but freeze up! So, I contacted Greg and explained this last week and tried to do the changes today and it worked! Praise the Lord! As you said Don, it sure does appear better to have all those capital letters gone! If you feel led to read it again it would be nice, as you are the one who kindfully pointed it out to me that all those caps. were not a good thing to have. Thanks again my dear brother. Have a wonderful weekend and may you have something really special take place.
  • LINDA KOSTIN

Thanks Don! Please pray for me because a writer, editor and publisher has contacted me asking to use a story of mine in a book. She loves the Lord with all of her heart and is from Atlanta, GA. I love those southern accidents! She asked me how much I would like her to pay me but I honestly have no idea. So, pray and if you have any good advice about this for me, please do email me, ok? If not, that's ok too. God bless you Don. Have a good week!
  • LINDA KOSTIN

Hi Don; Thanks for getting back to me as I always worry that I could be bothering you when people have their private lives taking place; busy lives doing what the Lord has called them to do as well as just need time to be alone to relax. Therefore I try not to stick with emailing the same people too often.
Anyway, in answer to your question about my friend in Georgia: Michelle is gathering various true stories from Christians who have gone through deep valleys in their lives , giving an account of what took place in certain situations and how the Lord pulled them through. This will be a book that will more then likely have a lot of tearjerking stories in it but with the testimonies of how faithful and true Jesus is to all of us >no matter what the circumstances, therefore I'm sure that it will help others out there who may just be going through the same situations where we question the Lord at first, " Why?" as well as have negative feelings instead of walking by faith and not by sight or emotions that can blind us intirely to the point of just wanting to die. I wish I could say that I haven't felt that way at times, however, I have Don, but everytime, the Lord would make sure that I would end up being lifted up by wonderful adults as well as teens way back then, in order to pull me through. It was during those terrible storms of life that the most wonderful songs came to me, the poems and short stories that I have saved in a binder for far too long now, that would encouage so many people, both young and old. I wasn't going to offer my >Teardrop< piece with the story that goes behind it; yet when I read it again on my< All About God blog last week, I cried. > I couldn't believe that something that had taken place so long ago, could still affect me that much emotionally, while I read it. I prayed about it and I really felt strongly that this is what I am to begin with. There are so many parents out there, even as I type this to you, that are crying as Christian parents; and more then likely asking the same questions to the Lord that I had, and feeling how I did, then the guilt comes in>because of expressing such feelings openly to God: that he will not bless unless we always positively confess; and because of such words sounding as if not trusting in the father, is what we can think as Christians at times. Yet, He is our Abba father; and I wrote a song about this, way back when my daughter was just a little girl, after I got baptised in the Holy Spirit! I should know better then to allow natural feelings that take place to cause unhealthy mindsets even if for just a short time.
Of course I know better! The Lord is faithful and true! The same yesterday, today and forever! I did witness miracles, signs and wonders as well as laid hands on the sick seeing them healed way back in the old days, when in the deepest valley of my life. God's work never stops no matter what! He rains on the just and the unjust and it is written; that even for those such as my daughter Heather, who are unfaithful, > that He remains faithful! However, when in the deepest valley of my life; regardless of knowing it, I would get so run down, that my emotions would get the best of me while the devil was laughing at times who runs before the Lord, accusing the brethren, saying, " Where is the faith now?" I remember, singing at a young adults gathering out in the country area outside of the city where I live, at the very beginning of the living hell on earth I was going through 18 years ago, when I actually heard at the end of my singing, " I have Heather! Let's see how long Linda serves you now!" I was so annointed as I sang that young men in their early 20's were crying to the point that some of them had to leave the room. There were young girls in tears too, but they stayed. They all loved me so much and begged me to come and sing or they said they would not attend the gathering that particulair evening. They picked me up to make sure that I got out of my apartment to fellowship with them. My other, kids, way back then!
I sang a lot of contempory Christian songs to my tracks that evening, but I ended with a very old song that was updated musically to a Sandy Patti track:" It is Well "> that I always refer to as my>testimony song; when I heard what I did as satan mocked me before Jesus that evening, way back then. I broke out in tongues crying from my deepest inner spirit person, and yelled out, " I heard what you said satan and I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ! Heather is the Lord's no matter what; and He will get her back! No matter what you say, never the less, I will serve the Lord!" and I did and I still do> to this day and always will. In laughter, in peace, in new life daily, and while in the valley of the shadow of death; it is well with my soul, and that is all that matters. Salvatin.
I prayed a little over a week and a half ago that a door would finally open so that I could serve the Lord in these last days with what he prepared me for these 30 years now Don and it was only a couple of days after I prayed that the email came from Michelle. Therefore I agree with you that Jesus will direct my path in which way to go pertainbing to everything I have written.
I know though, that if you ever heard me sing that you would truly know what my calling is; and give me a boot in the butt in Christian love to go out there and minister in song again. I do not beleive in 'performance' but praise and worship as well as prayer through singing. I haven't sang in 7 years now since my dear friend Kelly's wedding and she got really upset a month ago, when I visited her about that. Hundreds of people from all over the Niagara region know me from over 30 years ago on, and when I run into some of them< from, ... the old days, they say the same thing as Kelly, of course. " Why aren't you singing? You have to sing again Linda!" This is what the Lord said to me a long time ago now about my singing; " I have annointed your voice to open the heart's of my people so that they will lay down at my feet, at my altar; what needs to be laid down, in order that they be healed. " I heard this right after I sang ( guest soloist) in a Christian musical that ended up being on television a week after it was done. I played Mary Magdelene and sang twice; my favourite song of all time practically, was one of them: " There's Something Different About Him. I sang to the diciciples. It was so annointed that 4 young teens asked after the musical if they could have my phone number to become friends with me. They called, and within two weeks were at church with having accepted the Lord right under my roof. Musicals, when truly lifting up Jesus' name> will draw all man> unto Him, and I love it!" People came from half way across the States to see that musical. I sang in many musicals before that one, as well as a guest at many churches and ministered in song at senior citisens homes, prison ministry outreach, and hospitals. It was a ministry. A wonderful minisrty and I allowed ... so much time to pass now. Too much time wasted on my part, may the Lord forgive me.
Oh Don, keep right on praying for me as I've allowed myself with having worked in my ex-work place off and on for 10 years to be so distracted! I got so busy while working and helping my daughter raise Braeden, that the time sped by and here am I! Keep praying my dear brother, as when I just reread your main page it filled me with such hope. It renewed my faith too! Great is His faithfulness. Amen.

It is inspiring to know that you are exposing God's truth with your skills as a writer. May God continue to richly bless you and the talent he has given you.

I had a strong desire to write as a child and used to keep a journal to record my walk with God. It helped me to reflect back to discover answered prayer.

Evolution and Harry Potter have always made me cringe and grit my teeth. I have always refused to acknowledge their existance. The myths I shamefully and traditionally did celebrate were: Christmas, Halloween, and Valentines day. I can say this with a clear conscience, though. Other than attending Christmas Eve at Church to celebrate Jesus, these "Holidays" are no longer a part of my life.

HAVE A GIGGLE FOR A CHANGE.

A lesson to be learned From typing the wrong email address!!!!

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where They spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day.

The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He had been a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email, expecting messages from relatives and friends.

After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. Her son rushed into the room, found his mother on the Floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

    To: My Loving Wife
    Subject: I've Arrived
    Date: October 16, 2005

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here
now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just
arrived and have been checked in.
I've seen that everything has been
    prepared for your arrival tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing you then!!!!
Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.

P.S. Sure is hot down here!!!!

i got this from the AAG forum.

I am being made aware that Jesus is coming sooner than many think. Many will not be ready for His return. We need to be ready, wise virgins, keeping oil in our lamps.

Please do keep on praying for the request of mine down below, and I know I can count on you to do it:

Please "WIN the 10/40 WINDOWS" for JESUS CHRIST.
The 10/40 Windows (located between 10 - 40 degrees North of Equator - between West Africa to East Asia) need Missionaries, have no church at all, and there live about 40 percent of the world population. INDONESIA, my country is in the 10-40 windows though we have churches. Let's get on our knees, praying hand in hand with me for their revival. I look forward to the day when the Lord who I kneel to worship will be recognized by all the living and the dead as the One True Lord.
    Thank you so very much

I am being made aware that Jesus is coming sooner than many think. Many will not be ready for His return. We need to be ready, wise virgins, keeping oil in our lamps.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2

A message was given recently in which Jesus said, the mansion I went to prepare for you is now finished. All is ready for Me to bring My people home.
