- God- Until mid 2008 my relationship with Him has been one of turning to Him when i did not have another plan. Now i am working at Him being at the centre of my life all the time
Pets- I love animals especially dogs because i believe since God gave us the mandate to take care of them, we must all take that very seriously.
Vegetarianism- In 2007 i attended the Earthnotes Film Festival and after seeing what mankind is doing to the planet that God gave us to take care of, i decided it was my ethical duty to stop supporting industries that disregard the rights of animals. So i have been a vegetarian since then. I have just recently been very interested in veganism and im trying it out for some months in 2009
Politics- This has been in my family for a long time and i find myself interested in the way our countries are run. I would say i border very thinly on conservatism and liberalism.
Environment- My love for the environment is great. I believe that only we as humans can change the mess we are continually putting ourselves in by not taking care of the natural environment. But i like to include the social and cultural aspects when i talk about the enviornment because we, humans, are at the centre of the problem and only we can come up with the solutions to them.
Volunteering- Because of my passion for the enviornment, i like to work with people who are proactively seeking solutions to the environmental problems we are faced with. - I'm passionate about...
- Helping others- And i believe in little differences we can make into people's lives. Things like a smile....
Family- They have brought me where i am today and i love to spend time with them whenever i can.
and of course the environment.... - My story with God
- I grew up in strict catholic home and my parents set a very good example about the importance of going to Sunday mass and i remember my dad asking us if we had understood the sermons of the day. But apart from these Sundays, we really didnt have a platform where we talked about God at home.
I accepted God as my personal saviour on 29-07-2008 and i think it is the greatest choice i have ever made in my life. I have always known He was part of me and always turned to Him only when i could not do it by myself and He has always been there for me and answered my prayers. I even turned to Him to help me control my weight and He is continously doing so. I have had my ups and sowns in the journey since then but i always find myself going back to God - Other stuff about me:
- Im the first born of 3 siblings, originally from Kenya and live with my sister in South Africa while the rest of the family lives in Kenya. I love to travel and experiemnet with food

God wants us to cast all of our cares onto Him. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He will care for us, and he tells us to not worry for anything, but to pray for everything. So, regarding healthy eating, I prayed about it. I told God about my struggles with making good food choices (he knows anyways), but I was honest with Him. So i handed everything around that over to Him in prayer. The answer I got from Him was conviction by the Holy Spirit everytime I reached for something that is/(was) not a good choice. I still make bad choices, God is not nearly done with me yet. I thank Him constantly and Praise Him for everything that is going on in my life. When i make a bad choice, I definately feel the consequences and I know it's not good for me. But, since the Holy Spirit is living inside me, I figure the least I could do is my part to keep my body strong and healthy so that I can serve the Lord more effectively....

Long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered.
Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible.
Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, "Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself."
The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health , time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love.
One day when we look back , we will realize that we don't really need that much , but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.
Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition.

Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life.. Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time.
You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence. So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile , Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!

Therefore, never feel that God doesn't hear our prayers

Your inspirational message is so welcome. If i were a policeman (lady) I would walk miles out of my way to help a beautiful Child of God like you.
I am sure it was God's way of giving you a reason to be positive because if we have to take note of all the negatives in our country right now we would be in the "pit" where Joseph was (and where his brothers put him"... But some angel would always lift us out of the "pit" of depression and deprivation. We are so deprived of love in this country.
I make it my business to tell the ladies who serve me at a clothing store or Clicks " It is hug your Granny day today" and I get a hug... even from some of the gentleman there! I love it. The hugs are so necessary for "old ladies" and "children"... I always want to be a CHILDREN! (sMILE)

I DON'T MIND - AND I LEAN ON SO MANY NOW THAT I AM GROWING OLDER BECAUSE MY GROCERIES ARE HEAVY AND THE GUYS AT PICK & PAY AND SPAR KNOW THAT GRANNY WANTS THEM TO DO THEIR DAILY "GYM"... AND I REWARD THEM WITH A SMILE AND LINE THEIR PALM WITH "SILVER"... AND ALWAYS TALK TO THEM ABOUT OUR JESUS. I GET AN OPPORTUNITY TO EVANGELISE AND SO MANY PEOPLE ARE "HUNGRY" FOR THE WORD.
I SOMETIMES ASK OUTRIGHT: "DID YOU PRAY TODAY"... AND I AM SO HAPPY WHEN SOMEONE ADMITS "NO". SOME LIE AND I CAN SEE WHEN IT IS NOT GENUINE. THOSE WHO ADMIT "NO" ARE PRAISED AND I HUG THEM AND SAY " JESUS LOVES YOU BECAUSE YOU DID NOT LIE" "GO AND REMEMBER TO PRAY EVERY DAY"...

I ACTUALLY BELIEVE, LIKE BROTHER BOB THAT A REVIVAL WILL START IN SOUTH AFRICA. HEIDELBERG, WHERE I LIVE IS EXPERIENCING A REVIVAL BUT AT THE SAME TIME ALSO A SEVERE ATTACK BY SATAN, AND OUR YOUTH IS UNDER FIRE! DO YOU KNOW THAT IN OUR SCHOOLS THEY HAVE "SATANISM" AS A SUBJECT (UNDER THE AUSPICES OF "RELIGION"). MY GRANDDAUGHTER, MAGDALISE, TEACHES MATRICS (GRADE 12) AND SHE HAS TOLD THE PRINCIPAL THAT SHE REFUSES TO TEACH THEM ABOUT SATANISM AS SHE IS NOT INTERESTED IN IT AT ALL AND DISTANTIATES HERSELF FROM THAT. IT IS RATHER SHOCKING. IT MADE HEADLINES IN ONE OF THE NEWSPAPERS THAT A SCHOOL ON THE EAST RAND HAS INTENSIVELY STUDIED "SATANISM" IN CLASSES! THE PARENTS ARE OUTRAGED...

I enjoyed reading your profile you really have a way with words It is so wonderful to be able to communicate with others that know the Lord as their Saviour and learn more about serving Him I have been a Christian for a lot of years but everyday is a learning experience and only by the grace of God do I get thru it
I am learning to surrender everything to God and let Him take control of my life He is an awesome and wonderful God The great I AM there is so much to learn and it is all in His Word the BIBLE I will keep you in prayer and ask God to keep and protect you and that u will grow in knowledge and wisdom and that you will be open to the voice of the Holy Spirit BY the way I was raised a Catholic and I never realized until this year what a blessing that was because at least I came to know that there is a God So many children don't have any idea who or What God is .
Well I know that I am going to enjoy this site and I am so glad that God brought me to it Praise the Lord

The center chapter of the BIBLE is Psalm 118.. there are 594 chapters before and after Psalm 118
And if we will add this we will get 1188... in which the center verse of the BIBLE is PSALM 118:8
What is the significant of Psalm 118:8 in God's perfect will for our lives?
It is better to trust in the LORD, than to put confidence in man.-- Psalm 118:8
When things get tough, always remember faith doesn't get you around trouble..
it gets you through it!

Please "WIN the 10/40 WINDOWS" for JESUS CHRIST.
The 10/40 Windows (located between 10 - 40 degrees North of Equator - between West Africa to East Asia) need Missionaries, have no church at all, and there live about 40 percent of the world population. INDONESIA, my country is in the 10-40 windows though we have churches. Please also pray for ISRAEL and all over the world. Let's get on our knees, praying hand in hand with me for their revival. I look forward to the day when the Lord who I kneel to worship will be recognized by all the living and the dead as the One True Lord.
