My story with God: MaryAnn advised me to put this on here so here it goes..... my story with God..... Well I grew up in a home where we only went to church on Easter and Christmas. Part of the reason being the church we went to, whenever we did happen to go, was an hour away. The other part being that my parents just never really felt like going. However, even though we didnt go to church often my parents did send me to a Christian camp since I was in about 4th grade. I think that first year I accepted Christ because I remember staying after chapel to talk to someone. Not totally sure what it was about. But I remember telling my friends parents about what the counsler and I had just talked about and they were really happy and excited. After that I still didn't go to church very often or anything but I kept going to those camps every year. Two years ago, as always I went to the same camp. We were all at the outdoor chapel. I remember Pastor Dave talking and giving his sermon. He went on about how sometimes we compartmentalize our lives and there are some compartments that we don't particularly want God to see. He talked about giving Jesus the throne of our lives. Afterwards counslers stood in the back for us to talk to. God helped me realize that I wasnt giving him the "throne of my life." I hesitated but I ended up talking to my counsler, Sarah. Sarah prayed with me. I asked Jesus to take over my life. After I prayed I had my "I'm the worst person in the world breakdown" I had no close friends there with me so I went through the breakdown by myself. I decided to actually live my life for the Lord. When I went home i was super excited. Both of my close friends are unsaved, but I still wanted to tell them. So I called my friend Kadee and told her what happened. 10 min later her mom( who i was also close to) called me back telling me that I was a good person I didn't need to do this. Of course she wasnt trying to hurt me but it did very much. That was the being of many hurts to come from her. ( but that another long story for another time) I got very confused, had another breakdown. Before I brokedown I left the house to go for a walk. The whole walk I prayed. God told me that I did do the right thing. That I shouldn't let anything or anyone get in the way of my love for him because nothing is gonna get in the way of his love for me. Ever since then I have tried to live for Him. Although at times I didn't I always loved Him the same. NOw I love God more than I did when my "God story" had just started.

I just read your story ....I am so proud of you.

I just ran into an old friend I haven't seen in about 8 years. After talking to her for awhile she told me she's really into 'Ekhart Tolhe'--That newage monk that Oprah is so into...anyway, she asked me if I have read his books, I said 'no', I'm not interested. I told her I'm a Christian, and I am not open to 'newage' stuff. She told me to not be so 'closeminded'...and almost immediately her demeanor changed towards me once she found out I'm a Christ follower. Big Sigh....What are you going to do...Love Them and Pray for them and trust in Jesus always.

Stand Strong dear Sister..you are on the right path with your eyes fixed on Christ!

hey there, it is really consuming many people. People are searching fulfillment..The teaching is that there are many ways to God..not just Jesus. IT is deceiving many people..Oprah is a big advocate of it. We know that the Only way to God is through Jesus Christ. I urge you to not get tangled up in it.

Anyway, my sister, my friend, it's so great hearing from you. Things are good with me. We listed our house 'For Sale' last week, so are praying it will sell quickly and for a good price. I was just reading over your testimony again. It really touched me as I have a friend who is unsaved, who is sending her daughter to a camp that I believe is a Christian camp. They do not go to church, or know the Lord, but your testimony is so encouraging because I think of this little girl who is 12, and has been going to this camp for the past four years, and I praise God that He is working there also. She has not told me anything about it except that it is a camp where she attends a Chapel. Her mom has not talked about it with me. She knows I follow Christ, but she has not asked me details about my faith. I have shared my testimony with her, but we have not talked about it further than that.

When I was reading your testimony, there was one part that really stood out for me..it is this:

This shows me how the enemy works. People are so deceived. Our culture is such that the enemy has us believing that we must live Strong and Independent Lives. BUT GOD, tells us to Cast our cares on Him. Depend on Him. In our weakness He makes us Strong, and He is Glorified! He tells us to not worry about anything, but pray for everything.

I am also Praising God that when something like that happens, you are going to God, and walking and talking with Him.

The Lord will sometimes put us in places to leach us something. Have you asked the Lord what He wants you to learn from this...There is always something. Stand strong in the Lord.

hey there girl...nice to hear from you. Christmas was nice and quiet! We did some visiting after Christmas, and did our best to stay as 'low-key' as possible. It was really nice!

For New Years my husband and I went to a Raptors game (Toronto pro-basketball). Craig (my husband) has seasons. I was happy to be doing that...it was fun!
