i love going to church and meeting up with my christian friends. i like helping people who are where i used to be before god rescued me.
I'm passionate about...
jesus and getting to know him even more. my family are evrything to me.
My story with God
i became an alcoholic during a very abusive relationship. i was only 17 and he was 36, he had total power over me, i had 5 children by the time i was 22. I escaped from him but was still under the power of alcohol for quite a few years, i was at rock bottom when i called out to god and asked him to show me if he was real, and he answered me. im now 37, married to a lovely christian man and have 3 more children - 8 altogether! its taken a long time to get here and i thank God for his love, grace and mercy, i am nothing without Him.
Other stuff about me:
i love praise and worship and being with my family. dont like religion or religious attitudes. love friends.
Hi, Thanks for the greeting! My daughter and I were treated to an amusement park today (one of my days off) by my mom. And my stepdad got my oil changed!I am very blessed. With love, Kathy
Hi Lynne,
How is life acrossed the Big Pond? I'd like to visit England one day. Our worship leaders are originally from Scotland, but spent several years in revival meetings in Sunderland, England. They are such dear people. When my kids were small, I hardly ever left my state of California. Now, I've been on short term missions trips with my church. I went to Thailand & So Africa. The travel of itself was a real faith & confidence builder in Christ. The stepping out in new things & seeing that God would take care of the details was good for me. (I always tended to get turned around & misplace things! Ha, ha!) The pictures I've seen of England are so beautiful! The Narnia stories by C.S. Lewis have always been a big favorite to me. (So descriptive of a prettier place than I live!) Hug those precious little one! They grow up so fast, don't they? Have a blessed day in Jesus!
Welcome Lynne
Glad you joined our wonderful internet family, sharing the love of Christ, learning and growing in your spiritual life. And as a bonus making wonderful friends.
May you experience a wonderful fellowship and growth with all the others by joining in the groups and forums and share the love of Christ.

HOPE IN THE LORD'S FAITHFULNESS...........
- taken from the book of Lamentation 3:19-40:
19 The thought of my suffering and homelessness
is bitter beyond words.[a]
20 I will never forget this awful time,
as I grieve over my loss.
21 Yet I still dare to hope
when I remember this:
22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends![b]
His mercies never cease.
23 Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!”
25 The Lord is good to those who depend on him,
to those who search for him.
26 So it is good to wait quietly
for salvation from the Lord.
27 And it is good for people to submit at an early age
to the yoke of his discipline:
28 Let them sit alone in silence
beneath the Lord’s demands.
29 Let them lie face down in the dust,
for there may be hope at last.
30 Let them turn the other cheek to those who strike them
and accept the insults of their enemies.
31 For no one is abandoned
by the Lord forever.
32 Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion
because of the greatness of his unfailing love.
33 For he does not enjoy hurting people
or causing them sorrow.
34 If people crush underfoot
all the prisoners of the land,
35 if they deprive others of their rights
in defiance of the Most High,
36 if they twist justice in the courts—
doesn’t the Lord see all these things?
37 Who can command things to happen
without the Lord’s permission?
38 Does not the Most High
send both calamity and good?
39 Then why should we, mere humans, complain
when we are punished for our sins?
40 Instead, let us test and examine our ways.
Let us turn back to the Lord.
My dear friends....
this is the time for restoration... to our true relationship to God...for He is faithful en just...Amen....

thanks so much for the acknowledgement. A friend is surely worth all hazards we can run. We thank God for all these mighty people He is raising from all the four corners of the globe! He alone is worthy of honour and praise. Thank you-Pst. Berhard C.
Lynne, I understand the delimma of being 'convicted vs condemned'. After rereading my Bible, the comments made here, and my own personal faith, we are not going to received God's condemnation from smoking. I'm not rationalizing or making excuses, it's just what I feel God is telling me right now.
A few days ago I felt a strong conviction that God wanted me to quit smoking right then & there. I "made a deal" that I would quit after I finished the pack I was on. I wanted to use the nicotine patches but the store was out of stock. I know that was just an excuse because as strong as I felt about quitting, I could have quit 'cold turkey'. Anyway, I have joined a Quit Smoking group that has is very helpful. They even offer a Quit Coach that is accessable almost 24/7 via internet or telephone. My quit date is set for 9/2/08. I am hoping & praying that God will bring that strong surge of power over cigarettes again.
Oh Gosh Lynne, I couldn't even attempt quitting cigarettes without God's help. And I know this isn't going to be easy since I didn't quit when he had convicted me to. I've got the patches ready but I'm not sure if I am ready.
I am so proud of your friend quitting and knowing it is for good. I love hearing about other's success. I know I can do it too. Please pray for strength for both of us. How long have you been smoking?
Hi Lynne.
Yes I really enjoyed the worship & praise at my church this morning as well. The prescence of God was overwhelming! Todays message was the last in a series from the book of Daniel that shows us that our God is sovereign in everything even though sometimes it appears that this is not the case. It was that good that we are going to start a series intitled "Unpacking Daniel" on Wednesday nights. This will explain some of the prophetic imagery and other truths contained in this book. In fact the only thing that could have made it better was if my wife would come back to the Lord. She is still backslidden at the minute but I know that she is under conviction from the holy spirit. Please pray for her.
Hi Sis. Great news about the volunteer work for you and Dave. It is a fantastic oportunity to witness to people about the power of God to change lives. Before the summer I helped
a local church with some outreach in some very rough housing estates here in Lisburn. I must admit that I was scared at first, as marching up to groups of teenagers out drinking on a Friday night to tell them that Jesus died for them and that he changed my life and could do the same for them was not really in my nature! But I found that once I engaged them that they were mostly decent
enough kids that had had a rough upbringing and were trying to find their way through life under various difficult circumstances. I know that I was able to help one or two of them find direction. To God be the glory for I did not do it in my own strength. What is next for me I am not sure? I am trying to grow in the Grace and knowledge
of him and see where that leads me. Work is a big barrier to me as it takes up so much of my time and effort, and Matthew has a lot of difficulties that take up most of the rest of it. I am fasting and praying for his healing. But I am trusting in my saviour. He can see the bigger picture.
Blessings to you, Dave and your family Lynne.
Johnny.
Hi Lynne. Thank you for supporting me in prayer. I hope you all had a great time of worship in your meeting this morning. A guy that I new from years ago (he used to live next door to my sister) came to our meeting this morning and has given his life to Christ. He is an alchoholic and a drug addict but has been "clean" for over 5 months now. We had a chat and he has agreed to come to other meetings with me. Halliluljah!
Hi Lynne. Yea another hectic week but like you say. Nothing that God cant handle. Sheree has gone to Scotland to climb Ben Nevis so Matthew and I will be living on take aways until Sunday! I pray that all is going well for you and Dave in the charity shop. (If Dave is now the manager does that make him your boss? lol). With regard to the "big bang" machine that they have made, I think they have just invented a very expensive high speed scalextric racing set! I prefer the word of the creator to the imagination of man.
Romans 1:20-22
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.
Hi Sis. I will remember your fellowship in prayer. Alhough I attend Hillsborough Elim there are several independent evangelical fellowships in Lisburn. The likes of Lisburn Christian Fellowship and Kingdom Life City Church both started off in borrowed premises but because they are on fire for God they have grown to very large prominent churches in the town. Even the Whitewell Metropolitain Tabernacle in Belfast began in a borrowed hall and now has a congragaition of 3000+. I know that your fellowship preaches the Word and is filled with the spirit. Therefor if God be for you, who can be against you? Glad to hear that it is working out for you in the charity shop, sounds to me like the owner of the charity shop is under conviction from the holy spirit! I did not get to church this morning as Sheree is away and my mum & dad who usually take matthew out on Sundays are on holiday. I can see an improvment in him and I am praying that I will be able to take him to church with me one day soon. My sister is going to look after him now so I should get to the evening service. I took him to a country park this morning and walked for miles, I am now exhausted. I did not know that I was so unfit! But it was good to walk along the shore and through the countryside. I was in awe at the wonder of creation and then it struck me that if the earth in its fallen state could be as beautiful as this, what would it have been like before the fall? So I have came home and been taking another look at Genesis 1. In verse 12 we read that the land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Then man rebelled against our creator and in Ch3 v17 we read "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you". If it is beautiful with the thorns and weeds I for one am looking forward to the day when all things are restored! Rev 22 says "Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever." That is what we have to look forward to no matter what happens in this age!
Hey Lynne, Hi to you too! I just started a Bible study for the first time. We had a video with a British guy called the Alpha course. Have a great day. Kathy
Hi Lynn. I have not been online much over the past week. Things have been hectic here in lots of ways. But the best news is that my younger sister got saved! She has not yet set foot in a church but is looking forward to comming with us tomorrow. She telephoned me when I was driving home from work on tuesday and told me that there had been a tremendous battle taking place within her for some time and that she had just surrenderd her life to God! Dave and you will get direction about the charity shop and a place of worship. Our God is the Soverign Lord! I hope to be online a bit more in the coming week. I will remember your needs in my prayers. God Bless.
Hey Lynne. My sister Linda is going on with God faster than I could ever have imagined! She knew almost nothing about the Gospel except for the basics that I told her, but now she is soaking it up like a sponge! What did Dave and you decide to do about the charity shop? I am sorry to hear that you can not meet on a Sunday morning, but at least you have somewhere to meet on a Friday. I have found that some of the most powerful meetings are held in peoples private homes. (Just as the first century church did.) Acts 2:46
"Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts." So you are quite correct when you say that there is nothing in scripture to set Sunday apart. As it says they Met every day! And if we were still under the law we would have to keep Saturday as the Sabbath. Most Christians meet on a Sunday as that is the day of the victorious resurrection. God Bless you and your fellowship.
Romans 14:5
One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
Hey Lynne! Dont let the photos deceive you. I live in a town (well officially it is a City but really it is just a large town) and it has all the usual trappings of a town/city including alchohol and drug abuse, violence, hoodies, theft etc etc......... But I dont usually take photos of that lol!
Thankfully despite all Matthews difficulties he loves the outdoors and therefore we love to take him, which is a blessing as otherwise I might spend my freetime reading the Bible and eating pizza! My sis is doing great as as Tim (the ex-alcoholic durg addict) and we are now a regular trio at most meetings. Your boss in the charity shop backslid like I did. You wake up one morning and wonder how you got so far away. Satan is indeed more subtle than any beast of the field. Great news about Damian! I believe in household salvation (even though my wife has never been as far from God as she is now). The next time you have an outing to the abundant life church leave the housework, praise God and rejoice!

Hiya Lynne. Thank you. You have a great one as well. I am sure the kids will have a ball! I havnt been on much as I decided that I was not spending enough time in the Word as it was and I now have a new Job which gives me even less free time and thererfor the time that I was spending on the pc could be better used. But I would like to know how you Dave and the kids are, did you guys get a new building to worship in? can you drop me an e-mail after the Christmas madness as I would like to keep in touch. I remember you all in my prayers. Love and blessings - John.
Hiya Lynne. Yea I had a great Christmas. Just myself, Sheree and Matthew. Had a few people round on Boxing day, but apart from that very quiet. Just the way I like it! Glad to hear that you all had a good one too and that I wasnt the only one in bed before midnight on new years eve! Linda is still going on with the Lord and although like all of us she sometimes struggles she always overcomes. I am not on here much myself either now as I think that the little free time I get can be used better. But I have sent you my e-mail address if you want to keep in touch.
I am being made aware that Jesus is coming sooner than many think. Many will not be ready for His return. We need to be ready, wise virgins, keeping oil in our lamps.

I look forward to the day when the Lord who I kneel to worship will be recognized by all the living and the dead as the One True Lord.
