My story with God

I was born March 30, 1970, in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada and I am the eldest of two girls. My father, Roland, is French Canadian and her mother is Irish Canadian which has made for a interesting mix of personality and humour.

My father came from a Catholic background and my mother from a United. My parents married and raised their daughters Baptist. I married John a Presbyterian and we are strangely enough still attending the Presbyterian Church with our two children Khristien and Gerrit to this day.

I am the Author of three books; Pruned for Perfection, Treasures in Jars of Clay and Multiple Sclerosis and Christ. I am an Ambassador for the MS Society Walk and the President of Robin’s Nest Global Child Foundation. I love to speak with small or large groups about Robin’s Nest or one of my many Christian topics.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000 and with a tumor in my right temporal lobe of my wee lil brain a couple of years later. For some people this would put a halt to their lives but for me it has meant opportunity, not an end but many new beginnings.I have learned to use my sorrows to move the mountains in my life with the knowledge that this too is God’s plan.
I live life in the Spirit and try to share how with all who know me , read my books or hear me speak.

One of my favorite passages is: 2 Corinthians 4:7-9

7. Yet we who have this Spiritual treasure are like common clay pots, to show that the supreme power belongs to God, not us. 8. We are often troubled but not crushed; sometimes in doubt, but never in despair; 9. There are many enemies, but we are never without a friend; and though badly hurt at times. We are not destroyed.
