I'm passionate about...: Becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ and helping others to do the same.

I am passionate for revival to touch the whole world, I am passionate to see young people established in the faith. I am passionate to help hurting people finding help in their hour of need.
My story with God: Many times we come up against the issue of supporting others. Illness, Finances, relationships, and death are a few issues where support is called for.

I want to discuss how we are to support those who are afflicted with illness whether emotional, physical, or spiritual.

As Christians we have a responsibility to care for those who are ill, First by prayer, because we should always be lifting up those who are sick and ask God to heal them.

While we are waiting for that healing to manifest we should be doing all we can by supporting them in a practical since. Bring meals, visit them, go do errands for them, do Bible studies with them if they are up to it. And most of all keep praying with, and for them.

Do not ever make the person feel bad if they are not instantly healed. The two pillars of love are patience and kindness, our job is to support them and not judge them.

“Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;” ( James 5:14 )

“Because I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
“Then the righteous will say to him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and give you something to eat, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you as a stranger and welcome you, or see you naked and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?”
40The king will answer them, “I tell you with certainty, since you did it for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.” ( Matthew 25:35-40 )

“And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them.' ( Mark 6:16 )

“...they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." ( Mark 16:18b, )

Also there will be support that is needed for those who have mental issues. Our support for them could be to make sure they are taking their prescribed medications, visiting them, and to just be in their life for them.

The scripture says to comfort ( be near ) the feeble minded. ( Fainthearted, discouragement, little strength, timid ) (1 Thessalonians 5:14 0

This scripture really says a lot about what it means to comfort some one with a mental illness, “to be near them”.

Many times we just stay clear of them and hope the secular doctors can help them.

You may know of someone in your church who has one of their family member diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Others might have a family member who is suicidal, and maybe your best Christian friend has fallen into clinical depression.

It is at these times that we need to draw near to them and bring comfort, support, and encouragement to them.

There was a story in Mark chapter two about a paralyzed man who was brought to Jesus to be healed, His friends were so disparate to see their friend healed that they literally tore the roof off the house so they could lower the cot with the paralyzed man was on it down into the house where Jesus was, and the man was healed.

This is such a picture of how we are to support and help the sick. These men loved their friend and had faith to believe Jesus could heal him and they were so convinced that they went to extremes to see their friend healed.

It makes all the difference in the world for those who are afflicted with physical or mental illness to know that they are loved and do not have to face their illness alone.
Other stuff about me:: I write devotionals that I share with others, I write them from the things God is teaching me every day.

I know how discouraged we can get and how important it is to find a refreshing word of encouragement. I desire to have the moral character of Jesus to develop more in my life so that glory will be given to God. I desire to touch others with the love of God in this new year like never before.

I want nothing more than to hear my Lord say well done thy good and faithful servant, to end my race well for Him and to finish the race of faith he has given to me.

I personally really like all of Louie Giglio's sermons, I have many of his DVD's and watch them quite often they are very interesting and this one I have also, you should watch it I think you can find it on youtube.com if I remember correctly

A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely)
on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio...
And I was BLOWN AWAY!
I want to share what I learned....
But I fear not being able to convey it as well as I want.
I will share anyway.

He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is...
How He spoke the universe into being...
How He breathes stars out of His mouth that are huge raging balls of fire, Etc. Etc.

Then He went on to speak of how this star-breathing, universe creating God
ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder.

At this point I am LOVING it ( fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know )....

And I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school
as I learned more and more about God's handiwork.
I remember so many times thinking...
'How can ANYONE deny that a Creator did all of this???'

Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who created all this,
also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart..
how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.

And then I lost my breath.

And it wasn't because I was running my treadmill, either!!!
It was because he started talking about laminin.
I knew about laminin.

'Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue.'

You see... Laminins are what hold us together.. LITERALLY.

They are cell adhesion molecules.
They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell.
Without them, we would literally fall apart.
And I knew all this already.
But what I didn't know is what they LOOKED LIKE.
But now I do.
And I have thought about it a thousand times since (already)...
Here is what the structure of laminin looks like...
AND THIS IS NOT a 'Christian portrayal' of it...

If you look up laminin in any scientific/medical piece of literature,
this is what you will see...
Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!!
Amazing. The glue that holds us together..... ALL of us....
Is in the shape of the cross.

Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth,
visible And invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;
all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and
in Him all things HOLD TOGETHER. '
(Colossians 1:15-17)

Call me crazy. I just think that is very, very, very cool.

Thousands of years before the world knew anything about laminin,
Paul penned those words.
And now we see that from a very LITERAL standpoint,
we are held together... One cell to another... By; the cross.

Good evening
I want to tell you what happened to me yesterday. I went to the chopping mall with two of my 4 kids. (15 and 2) there was nothing wrong with my baby he just had a fewer but I did give him some medicine.
My baby is a big strong boy was never ill, as we walk in the mall he collapse in my arms no breath and a week polls. No warning, I try to wake him no response. I started to cry and asked the Lord not to take him from me. I prayed that he got a Father in heaven how can this happen like this. I phoned the hospital to tell them what happened and that I’m on my way. They told me the doctor is in the theater…. My son started to pray and I drove to the hospital praying. When I got to the hospital the Dr. waited for me. Thank the Lord for that. They took him and I asked a few of my friends to start praying.
He is still in hospital healthy “still thanking the lord for that”; they try to find out why this happened?
Please pray for me and my sons as I will pray for you.

I was off for 3 days and when I came in this morning you at AAG put a smile on my face, my Christian friends always think off me. You don’t know how match it mean to me.
I made a list of all my friends on AAG and once a weak I will pray for you in general and I mean it. I will pray for you and your family by name.
My chilled that was in hospital is fine thank you for your prayers.
Please tell me what is happening on your side love news from my friends.

Bob; I want to tell you that I too, struggle with weight. Some years ago before I started having knee problems, I was always working out and watching what I was eating. I like many, can eat ONE donut, and gain 5lbs. I think you know what I'm saying. It IS A STRUGGLE. I love to eat, and eat all the wrong things. The actual excersizing was easy for me; it was the EATING that was difficult. Everyday was a battle on what I could NOT eat. Many times I would binge, then feel terrible guilt afterwards. What I want to say to is, DONT GIVE UP just because you fell down one day. Pick yourself up and get back on your regiment the next day. Don't let one day spoil all of what you have worked hard to gain. It sounds like you have done very well; that you have been successful...CONGRATULATIONS brother! Yes, you felt guilty; now it's in the past. It's over, and you can't undo it. It's ok, don't beat yourself up. Just like in our walk w/the Lord, we sometimes fall. He tells me often, "What's done is done. Now go on; I am here for you. I will continue to catch you when you fall." You cannot change yesterday, but you CAN CHANGE today. You CAN continue in strength; and when you feel weak, call upon the name of the Lord...He WILL pull you through. He is ALWAYS faithful. Dear Lord, I hold Bob up to you right now; Father, I ask in the mighty name of Jesus, that you will continue to provide STRENGTH in overcoming his food addiction. Father, release his guilt, and in its place give him peace over this situation. Give him the guidance he needs, the courage to fight and your love that tells him he is yours; always and forever; even when he falls. AMEN. God Bless you Brother Bob.
