    Hi Samson, In John chapter three a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council came to question Jesus at night.

    This is the dialogue between them;
    2“Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
    3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
    4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?”
    5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
    6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
    7 “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

    From this conversation we can see clearly that they are talking about two births;

    From water,( the mothers womb) then born from above spiritually because we were dead spiritually because we were born in sin.

    So it is a false doctrine to say there is 2 more births we are to go through. There are Christians who feel strongly that baptism in water is part of what we must do to receive our salvation, but I feel the scripture is clear that baptism in water doesn't save us, but says to others that we are saved and have been born again from above.

    Dear Brother also Ephesians 2:8-9 Paul wrote; 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

    Some how our sinful condition tries to get us to think that we can do something in ourselves to save ourselves, but like the old song says;

    What can wash away my sins and make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Romans 6:23 says that it is a gift from God.

    I was reading in Genesis chapter one that when Adam and Eve fell into sin how they tried to clothe themselves and couldn't so God killed an animal and made clothe for them.

    This is such a picture of how God also clothes us with salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus upon the cross.

    Acts 4:12 says; No one else can save us. Indeed, we can be saved only by the power of the one named Jesus and not by any other person."

    Our good works show that we are saved, our love for the brothers and sisters, our love for God that comes out of our devotion show that we have been saved. The desire not to do anything that displeases God also shows this salvation has come to us. but the works as James writes tells others of our faith and devotion to God.

    It is so important that we have our faith founded upon solid Biblical truth so the enemy won't be able to trip us up with false doctrine that could bring problems into our lives. We have the holy Spirit who is our teacher who will raise those red flags like he did for you when you heard about this false teaching. I commend you for checking it out, it shows that you desire the truth above opinions.

    Bob
